I was just happy to know it wasn't my rapidly aging computer. :D

I got home late. Read a few threads. Went to post, and POOF! Suddenly the site didn't exist. :o

    This:this!:

What about a guard to replace Foster or do you think he is starter material?

Not me! I think they're a couple of ****ies. They'd never be able to take the beating Ben does. :dizzy:jmo

    It's dead for two reasons.

    1. As TTF pointed out, the site was down. Hard to post when the site is down.

    2. We didn't "do good" as you put it. We won a game, but we were far from good. This team is still a complete joke, at least as far as our expectations go. Great, Browns fans are happy when they win a game, sorry, but that's not good enough for me. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a winning franchise. We compete for titles, we don't settle for mediocre performances that result in wins against bad teams. You might be satisfied with beating the Bills this year, I'm not. Change needs to happen, maybe not mid-season as there's no point, but without major change this team is going to continue to be a joke.

They wouldn't need to. Certain QB's make the line look far better than it is. Brees and Manning would make our Oline look like one of the best lines in the league. Look at the line in GB. When Rodgers got hurt, Seneca Wallace seemed to have about 1-2 seconds before he got pressured. He was running for his life the entire game. Take a guess how Rodgers ranks against the blitz? I'll save you the suspense, he's the best QB in the league when blitzed. He makes that line look good, despite the fact that it absolutely sucks. Rodgers also makes that running game work, not the other way around. Without Rodgers, Eddie Lacy struggled against one of the worst defences in the league. He didn't even have 3 YPC.

I've been saying for years, a QB can make or break an Oline. Ben has never had a good Oline and never will. A big reason is his own doing. Put Brady behind our Oline and he would turn them all into pro bowlers.

Keeping with the theme of this site, you should probably try to get someone fired over this lol

Rodgers is one of the most sacked QB's in the league last year, he wasn't doing anything to make them look good and this year GB has a good line, there was just a write up on this in fact, and talked about on this board because people were questioning why Tomlin/Colbert can't do this.

They had a good line only because Rodgers is shredding defences when they blitz him. That line is bad and it showed once Rodgers left.

We did good. You should try lowering your expectations a bit, you'll be happier.

No need. I already have low expectations for my other teams (Leafs and Blue Jays). I expect the Steelers to be a good team every year, or at the very least have a bright future. Neither of those things are true for us

So why couldn't he make his line look better last year? Bet his time to sit in the pocket is more then it was last season. Brady would get killed behind our line, hell, we beat Brady by putting pressure on him when we played him a couple seasons ago, if we had any kind of pass rush we'd have done so again this time too. No QB, none will be successful with as little time as Ben has to throw.

yes but all our opponents send the house every play because ben is not very good to read the blitz and make them honest , that's was the biggest problem with arians and his long deep route too .

Well duhhhh this isn't a court of law. Prove that most people feel I am wrong about my opinion???? You ever notice how folks state, "the team always plays down to the level of the oppostion." Well they generally have the offense in mind with that comment. The facts show that the Ben lead offense has rarely reached its potential. In ten seasons, the Ben lead offense finished in the top 10 ppg 2 times. The facts show that this team hasn't made the playoffs without a top 5 ppg defense.

I and others can see watching the games that Ben struggles at times. Especially in the red zone where decisions need to be made quicker because the windows to throw the football are tighter. Ben's inconsistencies are a big reason why the offense has been inconsistent producing points throughout his time as QB of the Steelers. That's a fact. Many of the pieces have changed around Ben over the years. Ben is the one constant for what people believe is an offense that has under performed over the years.

There isn't an LT out there that's going to improve the mental aspect of Ben's game.

No, just more of your opinion, hence the court of law comment because you feel whenever you say something it's a fact, and sometimes even feel you have to say it's a fact as if that actually makes it one, sorry, still just your opinion. And I don't have to prove you are in the minority, just by reading this board I can tell you are. You can count off basically the 6 or 7 Ben haters here.

LT doesn't have to improve Bens mental aspect of the game, which by the way, is just more conjecture on your part, but a LT will give Ben more time to throw the ball, which is kind of important.

I love how some people compare Ben to Brady, Brees, Manning and Rodgers, and use that comparison as a reason to send Ben packing. News flash. Those 4 guys aren't available. They're not going to be available. What's the plan? Draft one early? It could work, but history tells otherwise. I found this link to a list of the 39 QBs drafted in the 1st 2 rounds from 2004 through 2012.

    http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/nfl-draft-how-these-39-qbs-have-done-1.2829033#1

On this list I count 23 that we already know there's nearly zero chance of them getting close to Ben's caliber.

Better than Ben (2): Rodgers, Luck (yeah, premature, but he will be elite)
In Ben's ballpark (6), being GENEROUS): Eli, Rivers, Matt Ryan (only 1 playoff win), Flacco (1 GREAT postseason and and otherwise iffy career), Stafford (all regular season), Alex Smith
Not there yet, but promising (3): Dalton, RG3, Bradford
Young, but not quite as promising (5): Newton, Kaepernick, Locker, Tannehill, Osweiler

The point? It's not exactly a "lock" that drafting a QB early will lead to our new franchise signal caller. Ben's not perfect, but he has gotten it done, and can still get it done.

I find it amusing that the same people who claim the other argument is opinion assert that a LT will turn this offense into a finely tuned machine as a fact...lol.
