You can't stop him. You merely have to protect the end zone at all costs. Do not let him get down there without double coverage.

Seriously, do you think any CB on this team can? Wrong! The answer is how many points do we need to outscore the Lions? My guess is more than 30, and I don't see that on this team.

A crowbar to the knee might work...

Barring that, we can only hope to keep him contained. Considering we couldn't stop a slower TE, I'm a little worried.

This is probably it. No one has stopped him this year and I doubt anyone will. Get to Stafford before he can throw the long ball?

Double him, but most of all get a pass rush on Stafford. Also run the ball a lot, and keep him off the field.

You can't stop him, you have to hope you keep him in check, The guy to me is the best WR to play since Jerry Rice. I think you go man, with over the top help. You can't double him, because the lions have some other guy's that can hurt, they have two pretty good TE's as well, and Reggie Bush is having a great year for them. But, bottom line is pressure Stafford and make him rush his throws and hopefully get makes some bad mistakes.

I would definitely not try to jam him on the line. Maybe Cortez Allen would have a chance, but most of the other corners... will just be toast.

I think you have to jam him at the line because if he gets off clean all Stafford has to do is lob it up for him and its game over. We must do something to take him out of his game and at least try to slow him down. Notice I said slow him down because he cannot be entirely shut down. I think we have to play within 1 to 2 yds of the line with a corner and and have a safety over the top. One other thing we could do would be to have troy play tight on him and rotate Ike over the top, similar to what they have done before to New England I believe. Either way, its gonna be a tough go for whoever is on him.

I think we need to focus more on Bush to tell you the truth. Bush is having a monster season.

I think the Lions are a matchup nightmare for the Steelers. As was already mentioned, you have to contain Bush. And I don't think Timmons is quick enough to do it. If you have Troy as a spy that takes one player out of the secondary. And I think Bush can easily outrun Troy too.

As for Johnson, you have to go man with help over the top. I think Lebeau needs to get creative with this game and find a way to play some kind of hybrid defense with more DB's. Johnson will get his catches, there is no doubt in my mind. It's just how many he will get. Maybe keep DVD on him at the line and jam him. He's probably the only DB they have that can run with him. But he's what, 5th on the depth chart?
