I wonder if the Steelers even brought Grimm for an interview, before hiring Bicknell (sp?) ?? :hmmm:

Though "Gomer Fife" (Danny Smith) is a hoot to watch, I'm thinking I'd rather have had Bobby April as Special Teams Coach.

I actually thought Grimm was on a staff somewhere but maybe he's not.

In another thread, one of the other posters (thigpen) said he was available since being let go by the Cards, when Whiz was left go. So he would have been available.

Yeah. I knew he was with somebody but didn't know that he'd been let go. I guess Tomlin doesn't like him since the conspiracy theory stuff. LOL.

So your saying that Tomlin is at least responsible for at least hiring our current O-Line coach? LOL :lolol:

Yeah and I guess now that you put it that way I have no further choice but to immediately call for his head! LOL!

This should be a legitimate statutory legal defence, imo.

I like Jon Gruden and hopefully he would recruit his brother as O coordinator. Jon has the tools to be successful in the burgh. Not to forget Butler as D coordinator

I've changed my thinking a bit ... I'm now leaning more towards Tomlin and Haley riding this storm out together, or sharing the same ride out of town. I'm still working on my timing though. LOL :smiley1:

Why have an OC?? With Ben's freestyle ways he should call his own plays. Our offense runs better when he's in control anyways. It's a no brainer.

While I don't mind Jon Gruden it wouldn't work if he recruited his brother. Jay runs a west coast style offense in Cincy so that would be more like what Haley has tried to install now.

Well, he can certainly ignore all of those things. Which puts him roughly at the level of Haley at the moment.

Hire Steve Maricucci as OC and Pat Kirwan as new GM.
I'm a little hestitant with Keith Butler but out of loyalty I would stick with him.

If you think that LeBeau's schemes are complicated, Gruden's are over the top. This is not what Ben needs. Like said, Ben needs to be Ben, for better of worse. Lately it's been for worse. Need a coordinator that works with Ben, not reinvent the wheel. Haley is a bad fit. Gruden drives me NUTS listening to him on ESPN. There is a reason he is in the booth and not coaching.

Kirby should get a chance. He won't reinvent the wheel. Or Chan Gailey. Liked his style.

I worry that Butler will be LeBeau junior. I believe Butler should get the nod due to him waiting and waiting for the position. A fresh approach is needed.

In this years draft, the experts are stating the QB class is the strongest it's been in years with 6 or 7 coming out. Time to take a look see at Ben's eventual replacement. The good thing is that the cap hit won't be as severe.

Great point, I just think he is a proven O coordinator. I guess it's the ol can't teach an old dog new tricks scenario.
