But in order to that to happen, the Steelers would have to play 8 COMPLETE games. They haven't played ONE in the past 2 seasons, so you're probably a bit (a lot) off of the mark.

 

I wouldn't bet on that, buff has a number 7 ranked defense and Emanuel is back, the bills can compete with this team, they shut KC s offense down, and they wont have a problem holding the score down sunday, Emanuel might run for a 95 yard TD this week...

 

When was the last time that we as Steeler fans were hoping for a 9-7 with 6 losses in the book!

 

2006 - The year after the SB 40 win, the Steelers were 2-6 having just lost to Denver at home 31-20. Of course that Steelers team had loads of talent and Ben was a turnover machine early in the year recovering from the motorcycle accident and appendectomy.

And the following week they defeated New Orleans a good team in a shootout. This team that is 2-6 just looks really bad.

 

That is a head scracher to me, but I guess it's better to be an optimist than a pessimist.

 

I love the optimism but I see it completely the opposite of what you do. I see 1-7 over the next 8 weeks. I think the only game we might get would be against the Dolphins because of the mess that organization is currently in or maybe the Browns at the end of the year.

 

I can actually see it happen.

Let's just say we just hit rock bottom vs. the Pats. We play a moderately decent game and are able to beat the Bills at home. Team is feeling better and it gets really cold in Pitt and we shutdown Detroit, who plays better at home.

Suddenly, we've won 2 in a row, feeling a little bit better and get pumped up for 2 tough Div road games and squeek by.

Suddenly, we're 6 - 6 with 3/4 games remaining at home. Maybe Rogers will send us a Christmas present by breaking his right collar bone and we end up running the freaken table.

You could probably get really good odds from Vegas.

 

Isn't that what was supposed to happen after the Jets and Ravens games (especially the Ravens)? Then we came back and choked spectacularly against the Raiders.

I'm all for continued hope, but I tend to balance it out with a strong dose of reality.

 

I could see 8-0 and could also see 0-8. It will probably be somewhere in the middle and get us too far down in the draft to get the elite LT we need...

If Tomlin and Haley can figure something out with the No-Line, then the Steelers will be dangerous on offense.

I think DL needs to let the secondary have some fun mixing in more man-2-man coverage with zone coverage. This might give Woodley and Keisel a couple extra seconds to get to the opposing QB.
