Does Lake get a pass?

Everyone seems to have it in for DL, but as bad as the DB's are playing where is the hate for Lake? Wasn't Woodson working with the DB's in camp too?
As long as we're head hunting lets make it fair!

The explanation for that stat might be that we are so soft against the run that teams don't really feel the need to exploit our corners as much. Brady sure didn't make them look like they were 2nd in passing yards yesterday.

 

Dont feel like looking it up so just guessing here but that was Bradys and Gronks best game this year. Against the second best pass D in NFL?? How good are they than?

Well we've just missed tons of tackles and things like that. I mean remember that play with Jennings when our whole secondary missed tackles against him? We missed a lot of tackles again yesterday too. I would like to see the stats for yards after contact against this defense if they keep up with that really. That would tell the tale of missed tackles and how damaging they are. I really think great defenses aren't like great offenses. Great offenses do unique and new type things but I think great defenses do fundamental things on a great level and that's what makes a great and consistent defense. We used to be that d but we just aren't now.

 

yes he gets a pass, but none of his players do. they give them up.

I'd say we might have dropped on yds per rush attempt too but I don't think there is much farther down we can go. LOL.

 

I said this in another thread on Saturday night. Position coaches are basically handcuffed when it comes to how much they can teach a player when it falls outside of the overall defensive scheme. Gay and Allen play better when they can jam the receiver and go man to man, they aren't shut down cover corners but they are better man to man than when they are in zone. Zone coverage is hard look at Clark and Troy they have been at it for how long and they still make mistake. Lake can only do so much before it becomes counter productive to what DL wants to run.

 

That's because opposing teams ran the ball down their throat, no need to pass it.....31st against the run, why pass the ball???

 

I think he gets a pass. Lebeau's system has been running on empty for a couple of years now.

 

Not sure but where were we ranked in D for the last 2 years?? I think teams are abusing us playing 5-10 yards off the wide outs. I personally hate it.
