I think Haley get a pass for 1 to 2 more years....only way he leaves is if we have a successful year and he gets another head coaching opportunity.

The article mentions Tomlin's culpability as an afterthought. And I'm not holding my breath that Tomlin will be gone after this season. I realize there is NO WAY, for various reasons, that Tomlin will be let go at the end of this season or the next several. I'm not even saying I want him to be let go. I'd like to see the team turn this around and make ALL of their coaches, including Tomlin, look good. But that doesn't change the fact that, IMHO, he's the most accountable member of the Steelers coaching staff but it seems everybody, and I do mean EVERYBODY, seems to want to give him a pass.

DL needs to go and so does Troy and a few others. Troy does nothing but run around in circles and think all that hair is affecting his brain. The D needs a complete revamp. I should not be surprised since I did say the Pats own us and it has proven itself tonight again.

Mike Tomlin should be fired after this miserable season.

    Dick Lebeau should retire.

Any decision on Todd Haley is still inconclusive IMO.

Mike isn't going anywhere...deal with it. DL and Haley will be gone after this season.

    deal with it? Really.

Why are so confident that he has job security?

This team is terrible and that falls directly on him.

NE 55 Points. Tea. Tomlin is awesome! He's going to unleash hell just you wait and see.

It's an after thought because it's not what the article is about, it's about the possibility of Haley and DL being gone. Tomlin has a hand in this mess just as the whole team does but I don't think you can pin it all on him or even say he is the biggest culprit.

Why do head coaches get fired, BF? Because they are ultimately responsible. Mike Tomlin is the HC of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is ultimately responsible for this team's performance. Why is that so hard for everybody to understand?

Because the Rooney's don't believe in the coaches carrousel. Cowher and Noll both had a couple of losing seasons. I'm not a supporter of Tomlin but understanding the management. He will be here next year. Haley and Lebeau will be gone.

I agree, he will be here next year based on precedent. That doesn't mean, however, that he's the right coach for this franchise. I think Tomlin has had a nice run and managed a Super Bowl win and another appearance. He was, arguably, the right coach for a team loaded with veteran leadership and experienced coordinators and assistants. I personally don't believe, however, that he is the right coach now. He's not an architect that can resurrect a failing franchise with a significant number of young players that need to be coached up to the next level.

Here's the thing though, Jack, how handcuffed has he been? He inherited a legendary DC and now has an OC he wouldn't have hired. Maybe he will get a chance to put his stamp on the team if DL and Haley are gone next season.

The Rooney's aren't going to fire Tomlin have to pay him off and then spend money on a new coach, the rumor is they're cheap lol.

I think that's a very likely scenario. I'm just sorry to say that I don't have a great deal of confidence in Tomlin being able to rebuild this team. He will get the opportunity though and I'll be willing to admit I'm wrong if he pulls it off.

Do y'all think we switch to 4-3? That's probably for it's own thread, but it will be interesting to see if he truly were to put his stamp on the team if DL were to step down. It goes without saying that Tomlin has had lots of experience with 4-3 defenses.
