Tomlin's presser will sound like all the others from this year. I wish a reporter had the stones to say "we've heard these statements before. Do you plan on finding any real answers anytime soon or can we expect the same canned responses, and play, we've heard/seen 6 of the 8 previous weeks? And how will you personally be accepting responsibility for the flaming pile of dog **** you call a roster or a season?"

2-3 weeks ago, I swear 2/3s of the reporters started off their questions like "Well, obviously you weren't happy about..."

They see through him too. And he's too clueless to know they were mocking him.

    Embarrassing....just an embarrassing performance--especially defensively.

In my opinion, it all starts with the defensive front 7--they simply can't stop the run. If you can't stop the run with your front 7 vs NE (or GB, NO, Den), you're in for an ugly day.

Unfortunately, I don't think any amount of firing is going to fix things--except for ousting Colbert possibly. The drafts need to get better.

I agree. Blow it all up. Total rebuild. But I do not want Tomlin, or Colbert around to have any input on the rebuild, they need to go. I'll lose my mind if they extend Ike or Clark. As much as I like Troy I wouldn't be upset if he goes too. Heyward and Brown are about the only ones who are getting anything done.

I didn't catch that, but it's a huge running joke among them on Twitter. Aside from that, I've noticed that there's a palpable lessening of respect for him in press conferences lately. I expect him to get completely raked over the coals on Tuesday.

I've been very critical of Tomlin, but there was a point in the game when the cameras zoomed in on his face that I actually felt sorry for the guy. He looks like he's in over his head and doesn't know what to do to get this thing turned around. He almost looked like he had given up. It's sad really.

Dude has kind of owned the press since he's arrived. Given his instant success. Let's see how he does when he's not leading.

Dejan Kovacevic tore into Tomlin a bit last week.

This won't be popular but this season is probably what this team needs the rate they're losing will get them a top 10 draft pick which they desperately need. The last time the Steelers had a high draft pick in 2004 they got Big Ben. The scouting dept needs to do a better job they have whiffing on a lot of picks lately. That's why the 49ers and Seahawks are good they sucked for a long time drafted young talent and now they're 2 of the better teams in the league.

Duh how is this not on Colbert he's the GM has final say on free agents and the draft he's responsible for the lack of depth.

Because Colbert works WITH Tomlin on these matters. I suppose it's possible that Colbert has "lost" his ability to assess talent, but it's unlikely. The more likely scenario is that Tomlin doesn't know what he 's doing, either in assessing talent or developing it.

I didn't see that. I only saw an article where he seemed to blame everybody EXCEPT Tomlin. He mentioned Tomlin but almost as an afterthought.

There is an ounce of truth to this...but teams with Franchise QB's typically don't rebuild to after the QB is gone. NE, Indy (before Payton left) NO, GB (even in the late Favre years I don't recall them being this bad). It's not that we need higher picks, it's the fact the we've missed in rounds 1-3 for several years. NE hasn't had a down season and has continually picked late. So i'd say it's less where we draft and more who we've drafted and who's doing the drafting—whomever that may be.

Like I said Colbert has final say that's on him Tomlin doesn't have that much power to make personnel decisions, I'm sure he has some input though probably limited.

Bell needs to spend some time on the jugs machine

Dwyer is easily the #2 back on this team...and the fact that he was cut for Redman, and Jones shows how disconnected the HEAD is with the TALENT.

I like Sanders...but he and Ben are no where near on the same page....He has no feel for when to sit down in a hole, and when to break...and because of it..Ben is throwing to spots Sanders is not in.

The defensive plan stunk....How can you not have Tez on Gronk all game??? Everyone expected it...you know why? Because it works. They even showed Tez pressing him off the line..and stopping him....then next play...Shamarko is back on him..

The Offense finally shows up a little...and the defense lays an egg of epic proportions. I know most think we need more O...but today proved IMO that the Defense is in much more need. The talent is just not there to make up for when "scheme" isn't enough. I do what I have to do in next years draft to walk away with ILB CJ Mosely and CB Loucheiz Purifoy...maybe try and grab G David Yankey in the 3rd (comp)

This team is still slow...Jones and Dwyer might actually be the slowest two guys in the NFL back on the return team....I still would bring back Reggie Dunn as a return guy.....The one Sanders returned was the only one I thought even had a chance of turning into something....and it was not because of the amazing blocking...it was because he has a 2nd gear.

Tomlin isn't Belechick. He gives his input, as do several others and Colbert takes all that and makes the decision.

AB and Sanders have let this team down with drops....

Really? Tomlin has driven the car off the cliff, but Colbert cut the brake line with questionable drafting.

I believe you're spot on Hack but I disagree about Dwyer. First off he's in better shape now and has more of a chip since he's was cut. i will agree he's running with serious aggression now but until I see him pass protect regularly and catch balls out of the backfield.......
