Yeah I don't get it and he still has not answered why he was so quiet for the last two wins prior to the loss.

We are done this season. I dont see us beating the Lions unless CJ is on IR. I actually dont know if we will beat the Browns twice to be honest. They have Jason Campbell, now, and a stout D.

 

I really did! BEFORE the season! I looked over the schedule and saw all the scrub qb's that we were playing and thought we should be able to eek out wins there and sweep the clowns and split with the rats and bungles. It's somewhere in there in that "predict the record" thread or something. I thought in the last couple of preseason games we started looking a little better and I thought we would be able to play when it mattered. Sadly I was wrong. BTW I'm still beating Mac Daddyo because he said 13-3. LOL. (please don't kill me Mac)

 

Easy to be a fan when the team is doing well. It's when they're losing that you find out what people are made of.

i dont know about "WE", but "THEY" are probably done. at 2-5 and playing terrible i cant see them catching the Bengals. they seem to be finding their grove.

 

As much as I hate to say it but with the lack of trust being shown yet again I think the Steelers this year are done. I hope they use this to find out which young guys can play and which can't and address those issues in the off-season. Priority #1 is get a franchise LT. Then get someone that can make plays opposite AB.

 

This teams has not been the same since getting Tebowed in the playoffs too bad that will be our only recent playoff memory for a while or nightmare

 

I realize that some people may go overboard at times when the Steelers are not doing well. Shoot, I've provably flirted with the edge a time or two myself. But the expectation that you guys have at times regarding the behavior of the fans on this message board is totally unrealistic. What's wrong with being critical of sub par play and coaching? Glenn, I read a post earlier where the poster said that you taking it upon yourself to try to bust trolls during the game day thread was over the top. I agree, I think it is over the top. It's fine to try to run the trolls off but I think you're being pretty harsh with a few posters who are probably as big a fan as you are. Just because they're critical of the team's performance doesn't make them any less of a fan. If you guys got your wish and nobody criticized anything on the game day thread, it would probably look something like this:

--Can you believe Pryor ran for 93 yards on the first play?
--Well, that's okay. I mean the team just flew 3,000 miles across country and you know they're tired.
--That's true. And Pryor is faster than any player on our defense so we can't expect Troy or anyone else to catch him from behind.

--Our offensive line has given up 5 sacks of Ben already today.
--That is true, but let's cut them some slack. Those are some big and fast dudes they're trying to block.
--Yeah, and Ben's a big guy himself so he knows how to take a hit.
--And we're averaging 2.97 yards in the run game today which is better than normal!
--At this rate, we may rush for 50 yards today!

--Did you see Ike playing 12 yards off the receiver when they only need 8 yards for a first down?
--Big deal. In case you guys do to know it they don't award points for first downs, only touchdowns. Give them all the first downs they want, right?
--And think about it. If Ike got up on the line and played physically he may get hurt and he's the best CB we've got.
--And big deal if he can't catch. We've got receivers for that.

--AB would have picked up the first down had he caught it.
--I know, but he did make a great catch in the Bears game.
--Yep, and that looks like a new ball and they're always so slick.

--What do you guys think about our gameplan today?
--I'm not sure we had much of a gameplan but that's fine. All of our players are totally up to speed now on the historic Steelers-Raiders rivalry and that's more important than any gameplan.
--You're right, and all of those bubble screens are really starting to grow on me.
--And even though they're picking up our blitz schemes time after time and we're not getting a sniff of the quarterback, the good news is that if we don't hit the passer, we can't be called for roughing the passer. Hope you guys don't take too much offense to this. I like you both and consider you solid fellow fans. But I am only half kidding about the gameday thread. It's critiquing our team in real time and it adds to the interest of the game as we navigate through the ebbs and flows.

And there are some idiotic things said in the gameday thread, but there is also some pretty good conversation in there as well. I usually enjoy it.

 

I don't have to be on the board to be negative. Heck in Cincy last month I was letting them have it in the stands and actually when the team ran out everyone started cheering and I was like "dude that's the o-line! we should all be booing!" LOL. I enjoy the game threads and they add a lot to the experience of the game for me. I realize that some people are gonna say some things that aren't necessarily rational but it's their right to be wrong so i just ignore them. But I could see how it's not for everyone.

 

Jack I have no problem with criticism at all it's the irrational stuff that bugs me like calling the game 4 minutes into the first quarter. I'm going to take a step back from letting people get to me and in return jumping on them over it. But if someone trolls me they're going to get it. Lol

 

I understand that the game day threads are a bit on the emotional and irrational side, but a couple of your retorts I thought were overreactions and were not calling out trolls nor were they responding to irrational statements. A couple of examples:
