does this make sense?

had a conversation with a guy who knows a thing or two. he assures me that tomlin and coaching staff are not the problem. he says we have a couple of players playing out of position because of depth issues. he thinks mclendon should be a de and in a 3-4 it all starts with the nt. he said its hard to keep gap control when it falls apart in the middle right away. he says clark is taking more chances than he ever has because he got use to it when troy was out. to many injuries on oline. he said defenses can confuse them so easily cause they have no continuity. he has always said that ben is a qb that cant play in a system where it is predetermined when the ball is coming out or where it goes. when they played him they wanted him to get rid of it quick. they would even play off the wrs to insure he done that. he said the problem came when he decided not to take it. he says that's why he is better when they are behind. Pittsburgh use to win games when they lead late. ben cant play with a lead because its not his game. he is better when you have to hurry and scramble around and make backyard plays. he tells me that if you listen to anyone who talks about him says this. defenses know this. that is why the fear of falling behind pitt is not there anymore. it was a good conversation that made me think. he also told me that Timmons and heath are by far the two best players on the team. just thought I would throw that out there

a buddy of mine that I went to school with. he played 10 years in the league. we don't talk football a lot but occasionally I can get his ear. he still likes to talk college football with me. we grabbed a burger at a place we have ate at since we were little so he was in a good mood. he said a lot and I feel better about the coaching staff anyway. he knows I overreact.

I agree that we have some people playing out of position and I also agree about MCLendon. Casey was just so dang big that he filled a gap with his left thigh. LOL. I DON'T agree that Timmons is the best player and definitely not "BY FAR". I do agree that Heath is the most consumate pro on offense but I don't know if he's "the best". He is my personal favorite though. Regardless of the ACTUAL reasons we are just simply a frustrating team to watch from a fan perspective.

 

well he is partial to linebackers and tight ends cause he had to cover them.

 

No crap. I'm to the point that it's not entertaining to watch this team play anymore! I find myself looking at other games and enjoying the action better than watching the Steelers! This is not even entertaining football anymore!

I still get pumped for a select few plays, but it's not good product.

 

I think your right. todd doesn't even watch anymore. he is going off what a certain player tells him I guess. he just thinks he would be better at de. he did say that casey was the main reason that you could not run between the tackles on us and the speed kept you from running east and west. some of that just aint there now.
