I will catch hell for this but:
1.) Cowher- Its just still there man, I feel there is more to why he hasn't taken another HC position.
2.) John Gruden- I think he would jump ship from MNF in a heartbeat to take the job.
3.) Rob Ryan- Defenseive genius who absolutely wears his heart on his sleeve during the games. Love his passion.
Honorable mention from college coaches- Bob Stoops

    ok that's fair.

    1. nick saban ( let him have complete control. it will never happen here but I would like to see what he could do.)
    2. kevin sumlin ( if you want a young college coach)
    3. jon hoke ( he demands a lot of his players from what I read)

If Cowher is holding out for any job, it's the Giants. John Gruden they would never pay what he'd ask and Rob Ryan no thanks.

Hell no to Nick Saban, I'd rather see Todd Haley HC before Saban. Don't know Sumlin but I am not a fan of bringing college coaches over. No decision on Jon Hoke.

My choices, can only think of two off the top of my head:

Hue Jackson (former Raiders HC and current assistant on the Bengals)
    Dan Quinn (Current Seattle DC)

    I would interview
    John Fox
    Bill Cowher
    Jeff Fischer
I would then ask each of them how they plan on putting the most aggressive 53 guys on the field that can play within the rules and how they can hold them to 100% accountability.
I would then let them know that the right answer means that they will have more control over their team then any other NFL coach in the history of the game. Their input to the draft will be just as important as their input to the entire coaching staff. They would be given full control as long as it is within the league rules and salary cap space. I would also let them know that no player nor coach is off limits from having to find a new line of work.
I would also have the limo parked right next to a Brinks truck just to let them know the seriousness of the situation.

yeah but look at his bowl record. he had more talent than anyone the past ten years and has always underachieved. not just my opinion. it is known nationwide now. even sooner fans are tired of him

Ok, fair enough. I would not hire Stoops, but I would bring him and/or a couple of other college coaches that use Co-Offensive Coordinators in for interviews to find out how they make that arrangement work.

how about reaching out to tony dungy? I don't think he would be interested but he might want to coach again. as far as saban goes, I think he could pull a pete carroll and do the opposite of everything he done the first time

Good point - I guess I just wonder whether a high profile coach could maybe integrate more of a philosophy and identity to the team. Even during the good years with Tomlin, I just feel like this team (especially on offense) has no real identity.
