Our OC position isn't afforded the same job security as our HC position. They have pulled the trigger on short stints in the past. I think during Cowhers 3 year run of missing the playoffs we changed OC's after 1 season. This is TH second, I can't see him being kept after 2 straight non playoff years.

I'll agree with that. IMO, Art-II will tell Colbert & Tomlin they have 2 more years (2014 & 2015) to turn the team around; so I also think that we will see a few other assistants get axed at the end of this season.

FYI, I was agreeing with BlastFurnace, that Haley would be a goner at the end of the season, and that I also think a couple other assistants would be gone as well.

I figured you were. just curious, what do you think about lebeau? do you think its time to let butler have a shot before we lose him? he may not be any better but I don't think he is as stubborn.

Yes! LeBeau's schemes are tired and predictable. OCs have him figured out and he is unwilling or unable to change apparently. He's had a nice run and I appreciate all he's done, but it's time for him to move on.

I'd give Butler a shot, but I would hope that he'd come in and throw a few additional wrinkles into some of our blitz packages and defensive schemes.

IMO Tomlin will be given (if he doesn't have it already) full control when it comes to the firing/hiring of coaches from this point forward. I honestly don't have any idea who Tomlin will choose, but he better choose very wisely.

Seattle's DC. Dude their defense is so awesome. It's what we used to get to watch on a weekly basis. Also if we had him we might get some corner play that can compensate for our lack of a great pass rush. That's who I would take. If Butler is just gonna be more of the bend and don't break d I just don't want that. I love Dick Lebeau and he's a legend but for whatever reason this is not the defense it used to be. I know everyone sounds the drum about opposing qb yardage and all that but we've not played any good qbs this year except for MAYBE Cutler. We just seem soft against the run now and soft against the pass as well. I know we can tackle but we seem to let the wide out catch it and then tackle him instead of realizing it's as much our ball as it is theirs.

Man I just don't get this hate for our defense. Except for 2 games we have given up an average of 20 points, thats pretty good. Yeah, it's not an exciting defense but if you don't give up the points, who cares. And don't look now, but TO's are starting to happen, maybe a pass rush will be next.

I don't think its just this year. when we play good qbs we get tourched. I hope we don't see it this week but it happens most of the time we play em

Maybe it's just me, but I think every team that faces a great QB gets torched, at some point.

at some point but not everytime they hit the field. I don't even remember the last time we made a decent qb look bad. I mean we gave tebow a playoff win. matt cassell looked like a pro bowler.

I don't hate it. I honestly don't. But it's NOT the defense we're used to. Teams used to not get first downs against us. We give them up like crazy now. Teams used to not be able to rush against us. We've given up huge ones to Forte, Peterson, and even Pryor. When we were a TRULY great defense we didn't give up rushing touchdowns and even if we did we didn't give up multiple ones in a single game. That's not the case anymore. It had been 2 years since McFadden had a multi td game and he had one Sunday. Do we still have single digit sacks? I've not looked at the numbers but as far as sacks are concerned we're still not looking good. Think about how poor our tackling has been this season. I just don't think the numbers tell the whole story. We will play Aaron Rodgers soon and I think that will show us what our defense is truly made of. I fully expect him to have a great day. Do you? The reason I say that is because he's mobile AND he can put it right where it needs to be and his guys seem to ALWAYS be WIDE open.

That's why I said in the original post, I think Haley will be the first one gone.

That's why I also said his Defense is either getting predictable or maybe we don't have the players to fit the Scheme.

The heck with not making the playoffs how bout not being able to score any d**mn points in general. Seems like the entire offense anymore is our FG kicker.

Pretty bad isn't it. Classic case of be careful what you wish for, ranked 18th under BA is looking real good compared to 27th. I know it's not all on Haley, but it wasn't all on BA either. I didn't mind them going in a new direction with BA but I thought TH was a terrible choice from the get go. This offense is horrible.
