...the end of the game was close and I am glad to see the Steelers continue to fight, but let us not forget, that even if we made those field goals, the offense did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING with good field positioned handed to them throughout the game. Our defense came away with three turnovers and we had a nice punt return by brown, as well as other decent starting field position, and we did NOTHING on offense.

The offensive gameplan and playcalling was absolutely wretched. We need to STOP running a screen or draw or bubble screen or little dinky dump-off EVERY drive. Again today we had no running game, yet we continued to try. We were starting to look better against the Ravens, particularly in the first half (they reverted to wretchedness in the second half), but this game was complete wretched.

It's not Ben folks. He has won in this league. Is it the O-line? That plays a huge part for sure. But it is MAINLY the offensive coaching staff's inability to develop a gameplan that will work against opposing defenses.

If they were going to fire BA, all the power to them. But they clearly should have targeted someone who would be an upgrade over him, which they clearly did not. Haley isn't even close to BA, and I'm not a huge BA fan. Norv made the Browns look competant on offense with really bad talent, yet Haley can't use our decent talent to do anything. Time for him to go.

Now or at the end of the season and who would you replace him with?

    I'm still blaming Tomlin.
This game was huge and the game plan was pathetic.

I feel like each offensive coach as to play a part in this mess. I would keep Haley to the end of the season and then let him and each other offensive coaching staff go, IF there was a talented offensive-minded coach out there that the Steelers could for sure get. I would then let that coach bring in his own offensive staff and completely remodel the offense.

But I am in no way an NFL GM, so im sure the Steelers have a better plan in mind.

Change OC's again and the offense will continue to be inconsistent because of the way the Ben plays. For that reason, the Steelers need to work on fixing the defense. The only way this team makes another SB with Ben as the QB is if the defense plays at a high level on a consistent basis.

Shutting out opponents with hopes that the offense can get off a field goal? We need to do what it takes to be able to score points on offense.

This. You can say it's not Ben all you want, but he can't win without a top 5 defence. Fire everybody for all I care, but nothing will change. We'll still be mediocre on offence for as long as Ben is here. Get used to it, nothing will change.

Somebody has the o be held accountable and to me, that somebody is named Mike Tomlin! I'm not saying the Steelers need to fire Tomlin today but maybe the Rooneys at the very least need to do what a boss of mine did to me early in my career that really woke me up. He said I've got some good news and bad news for you, which do you want first? I said give me the bad news first, boss. He proceeded to let me know that a measure of performance that I was fully responsible for was well below the standard. I then proceeded to ask what the good news was and he said this:
"THE GOOD NEWS IS YOU'VE STILL GOT A JOB!"

I got the picture and my performance improved dramatically! Someone needs to tell Tomlin that he's the head coach and is responsible for the product we put on the field and that product is insufficient! But the good news is, he still has a job! If he wants to keep it he needs to get his head out of his rear end, take the bull by the horns and GET THE FREAKING TEAM PREPARED TO PLAY FOOTBALL!!!

They are wasting precious time of Bens, if they are going to make a switch, better do it soon.

They should have never fired the last one. I was one of those "BA lovers", but I refuse to gloat. :smiley1:

Better pick one that Ben likes or it won't matter.

They're one and the same. Both are decent OCs. Both have had success as HCs. Haley actually got more out of Cassel than he is getting out of Ben right now. So instead of thinking Haley is the problem (as many of us thought BA was the problem) perhaps we need to start looking at the man at the top.

Whoever is calling the plays is the problem. Haley calls the plays. Thus, Haley is the problem.

The Rooneys will definitely be thinking hard about the things you just mentioned. I was at the Browns game last year and it seemed that 1/2 the stadium was empty. I have a feeling it's gonna be like that the rest of this season as well.

Because Arians was lighting it up? Lest we forget: Arians had a better line and more weapons during his tenure. I am not saying Haley is blameless, but this situation on offense all comes down to one of the worst O-lines I have EVER seen. Haley didn't draft this bunch. Did he? He's been stuck with this line that can't block and has to do his best to call plays that will keep Ben upright. And we all know Ben is not exactly a two-step, out comes the ball, type of passer. And he can't throw a screen pass to save his life.

So do tell: what do you suggest Haley do?

See my previous post. What plays, with this line, will work?

Haley is simply not the offensive mastermind people want to make him out to be. No excuses, no explanations. Obviously giggity.

Yes by all means lets fire Haley, then re-install the BA playbook, letting Ben call all the plays. That will right the ship! I'm convinced FTHI and while we are at it Fire the Coaching Staff entirely Immediately!
