I will say this. I am starting to become a little bit more encouraged that the Steelers are slowly starting to turn this around. The defense is tackling better, the OL seems to be playing better the past two games and we seem to have found more balance in the running game. Bell so far seems to be the real deal. The key is the offense needs to get better at finishing drives. We had the chance to put the Ravens away yesterday but couldn't do it.

Every game from here on out is a big game. We have to take care of business and beat teams we are supposed to. That starts with the Raiders. I think the Steelers need to finish 8-2 to have a chance at the playoffs. That is a tall task considering they have to go to NE, Baltimore and GB...

Good point. Pryor is the Raiders leading rusher with 285 yards and 6.5 yards per carry.

How true, 1 wildcard team, and possibly both will come out of the AFC West, we have an offense that has scored only 1 touchdown in each of the last two games, that's not going to cut it going forward, any talk of playoffs for this team is stretching optimism to the extreme....

I'm predicting a Cleveland win against Baltimore. If they do, then Baltimore can help us out by beating Cincy and then losing to da Bears. Either way, the steelers have to play nearly perfect football in order to make up for the poor start.

I think the Steelers could still lose 3 games and still win the division or potentially a wild card slot. Take care of our home games, and find a way to win 2 of the 5 road games left. I truly think the London trip should help us with the trip to Oakland this year. It won't feel nearly as long of a trip as that one did.

As a fellow Buckeye fan, I hear where you`re comin from, but Terelle, still hasn`t done it at the NFL level...
The potential is there, and he`s finally getting his chance, but he`s never faced a STEELER defense, yet...
I think we can handle him.
He finally has a chance to develop, but, I think we will be ready to contain him, at this point,
Plus, we just need it badly, and have an overall better team than them.(not that we didn`t the last 2 times we lost to them)...
We just seem to have that "backs to the wall" mentality, that we need, to win games like this, right now.
I`m optimistic about the rest of this season, but by no means, "confident"...
I see a lot of ways we can get to the bowl(EDIT... I meant playoffs... I still don`t see us beating Denver to get to the bowl, but we could at least get the chance).., but unfortunately, because of our poor start, they all involve other teams losing key games.
As is, I agree with everyone who said we just need to focus on handling our business, and let the chips fall where hey may...
We do that, we still have a chance.
    NO MORE MISTAKES!!!
    GO STEELERS!!!:herewego!:

The way I see it we are gonna have to be the wildcard for sure. I think the teams that are gonna definitely make the playoffs are the Chiefs, Broncos, Colts, Pats, and maybe the Chargers. It's good for us that the AFC isn't very good overall this year really.

I don't think the Pats are a lock by any means, they are on real shaky ground, pulled out some close games but have looked very average this year.

I agree and I was thinking that while typing that but I just figure the Jets will melt down at some point and the Pats will benefit from it. Geno is MUCH better than Sanchez though. Maybe all the guys around here that wanna trade Ben will be beating the drum for sending Ben to NY for Sanchez. LOL.

I'm just being realistic! There are 16 teams in the AFC, and right now, 12 of those teams have a better record than the Steelers, the Steelers are 3 1/2 games behind the bengals counting the tie breaker, so for them to have a shot at the Division title the bengals would have to go into a losing slide and pit has to win out, for them to catch up, they have a super deep hole to crawl out of: They match up statisticly against Oakland this week, both are 2-4, points for on offense, pit 107 oak 105, points against on Defense132 for both teams, so once again this is a must win against a team they match up with, but getting back to my point, can an offense scoring 1 TD a game climb out of the AFC basement and challenge for a wildcard spot with 12 teams ahead of them???

Whole-heartedly agree. I'll root for my team just as much as every life long fan, but the reality is.... we are behind more games than we are ahead of the Jaguars. Right now we are the bottom feeders and must win games. Look at last week and realize that there were 11 teams that scored under 20 points, and only 3 won those games (Pitt, KC, Dal). In today's offensive NFL, under 20 points is not going to win many games (and we've hit that 4 times in 6 games).

They are only 2 1/2 games behind the Bengals.2 more losses and 3 fewer wins means 2 1/2 games. Once every team has their bye it will be easier to figure out.

we have very small margin of error but we are one 1/2 game behind the wild card and 10 games to go

there is a lot of time to go and we have to play the bungirls again. with ten to go anything can happen. maybe it's their turn for the injury bug? it's not like they have been blowing every other team away.

we have to keep up the playoff type of intensity though and that's the tough part, but there is some fire in the bellys that I saw last game in our players. that is a good thing.

Beat the Raiders and then worry about beating the pats next week... No playoff talk needed.

If we even up the record at .500 then by all means open the floodgates and allow the chatter to commence.

This game at Oakland is really huge for the Steelers. I know I am being Mr. Obvious saying that, but a lot of things could really fall right for the Steelers if they can just gut out a win in OAK which is not going to be easy.

First – you got the Jets and Bengals – a loss by either team here is a benefit to the Steelers, Jets lose they are 4-4 and the Steelers are only ½ game behind them, but they beat them. Bengals lose and the Steelers would be only one behind them in the loss column – granted Cincy essentially has another ½ game on PGH due to their win over PGH earlier in the year

Second – San Diego has a bye – they are 4-3, but note they are 2-3 in the conference, PGH with a win would be 3-2

Third – Tennessee has a bye and is 3-4, Steelers would be tied w/them – granted TN owns the tiebreaker w/them, but TN still has Denver and Indy twice…then again they have JAX twice as well

Fourth – Dolphins could very well lose to NE and be 3-4 and CLE has a tough task winning against KC and could be 3-5, BUF could be 3-5 since they have to play NO

Fifth – The Ravens have a bye and are 3-4 and the Steelers would currently hold the tiebreaker with them since they won last Sunday.

Bottom line – they win on Sunday it becomes pretty official that the Steelers will be in the thick of it. And you never know exactly where teams are going to be when you play them, but the only games left on the schedule where I think the Steelers would probably be pretty apparent underdogs would be New England and Green Bay.

that's not worry me if we go down better go down deep what i would hate is to come short and have an 8-8 , 7-9 season , picking in the middle and think we were a couple of plays to the postseason ...
