That's what I remember. And, BF, do you really want your head to slam into any part of an automobile? ;)

the colts look like they drafted 2 franchise guys in a row. their first guy is now a franchise qb with a 2nd team. if the talent is there and he's sitting there for your pick, then you draft him. your still looking at 10-12 years after ben with a top guy then. that's if ben plays 3-5 more years.

our trouble is we don't have the money to draft a top 5 qb and pay ben too.

Yeah that's what I was gonna say. Peyton and Luck weren't on the roster simultaneously. I bet the last time we will ever see two franchise qbs on the same roster was Favre/Rodgers. Wouldn't you say the odds in today's NFL of that happening are extremely rare?

but possible. they had enough vision to look ahead and it's paid off, even if it meant releasing your long time franchise guy as he went into the twilight of his career. ben's not quite there but close. I just don't see a franchise guy in this draft, but there are some good qb's. personally, I like carr from fresno st. the best and next McCarron. I do think jones will be as good as them though, and all of them better than gradkowski in the long haul.

Have you seen this ridiculous controversy being ginned up about Irsay supposedly dissing Peyton? It's ridiculous.

all I heard was something was up. I never heard what happened or was said. the fans liked peyton. many are probably upset peyton is still playing this well also. of course having luck can ease some of that.

Irsay said that Peyton told them they would be crazy to not draft Luck and then Irsay said they felt like they needed to change their model because it was fine to be in the playoffs every year and for Peyton and Marvin to put up "Star Wars" numbers but he wanted more rings. Then John Fox said that was disrespectful to Peyton which is just ridiculous I think. I don't think Irsay meant it that way. It's no secret that Peyton has been a colossal choke artist in the playoffs but I don't think anyone in Indy holds that against him and I don't think Irsay was digging on him by saying that.

Joe Montana(Ringold High)greatest qb on the planet,
was replaceable. The big question/s you must ask
yourself do you feel Ben will be able to play at a high level in 2 yrs? Is the money he will want justifiable to improving your all around team?I think not,I like #7 as well as the next guy. He has been a wonderful football player for this organization, but will his salary demands be just too much for where are football team is at?As far as Bridgewater goes, I have not seen enough of him to form an opinion.I have floated my thoughts on other threads, Houston we have a business proposition for you.We would have to get (lots of picks).
    Since we got TEBOWED out
in Denver what has our record been? Has our team gotten better? We have got to get younger and CHEAPER! Our
    talent evaluaters must find some
    difference makers.

right now he can still win. it really showed with an improvement at the LT spot , how much better this team and ben can operate. do that on the right side too and we will win games. I can't believe the coach and Colbert are that blind to this fact. why they are so hard headed and stubborn to not want to protect such an investment. or the next one? there really is no excuse for it.

I some what agree with your assesment Mac, BUT, we have
to ask the million dollar question. In 2 years is Ben worth his asking price 20-25 mill/season range? If the cap raises substancially than I am all for keeping #7.If it raise's like it has been, 3 percent I am not so sure we could improve our team enough to play for championships.Pray for them raising the cap substancially.
