I'm still so perplexed over Terry Hawthorne not being on the PS, they had room and they add this wr

Just bothers me to no end to give up on a draft pick so quickly like that.

It does make you wonder. However he's still a FA at this point...so he could still easily be brought back later on. I guess only time will tell....

Normally I don't pay much attention to these type of signings but I read up on this kid. Sounds like it's a situation where he's been hurt a lot, but if healthy could be a great signing.

He basically sounds like a poor man's Tavon Austin. Says he has sub 4.4 speed, great acceleration, quick, compact, great hands, return man, gunner... Lacks size, and probably only a slot receiver.

Yippee! Another Brown, Sanders, Cotchery type, only worse.

We really could have used another TE!

great just what they need. another small receiver. dont they already have 2 guys in Moye and Wheaton that see very little playing time? why add another receiver thats not gonna play.

is this something new? its like they are collecting wrs and te's.

It does seem a bit odd that we go from a number of promising looking young players in the preseason, cut them, then resign random players and ignore the ones we had before, most of whom are still available. Hawthorne is a headscratcher, because he didn't seem to do anything particularly wrong.

By signing him to the practice squad, he will not affect their playing time, as he will not wear a hat on Sundays. I'm not even sure he is down on the field. Probably has to pay for his own tickets.

Maybe they see him as a potential return guy? With slot possibilities?

Yep, another guy I would have looked to bring back before adding another wr.

Dang it. Mike Golic JR is out there. Lets give him a shot
He did not get into a Pre Season game did he?

wylie was pretty decent in college. picked 107th overall. hang on to him for next year when we will need a couple WR's. nothing wrong with smaller receivers. marino made a living off them.

sarge, golic played in the final preseason game.

he's had a lot of injury history too. if we keep one, i'd rather we get one that's healthy.

maybe there was some lack of work ethic to hawthorne. who knows? there have been some pretty suspect moves this year as far as roster and players in camp.

Have many of the player moves made any sense this year? Not many have to me.

Does anybody else besides me get just a twinge of excitement everytime we sign a short, fast, WHITE receiver thinking we may have just found the next Wes Welker? LOL! ;)

If Mike Golic Jr was named Mike Slovobnik Jr, he'd be a long forgotten preseason cut.
