Just a little love for our most hated Steeler.

I for one was glad we resigned him. He knows his role and fills it. He isn't Sherman but he's better than what so many steeler fans thinks he is.

Been saying this for years now. Gay does his job. He mistackles from time to time just like the rest of the players on this team but he is usually around the ball.

I like Gay blitizing and tackling. Not sold on his coverage yet...but he hasnt been horrible.

 

Maybe he will earn his title back. "Big Play Willie Gay"...

 

I remember him getting burned on every play in the Superbowl against the Packers, not a fan of his he shouldn't be starting.

 

I remember the entire secondary getting burned on every play against the packers.

 

he was also a rookie starting in a SB against the packers and helped us get there that year. his 2nd year as a starter was his worst year. he's played pretty well for us overall. he's made a lot of plays over the years. we could do ALOT worse. we should be very happy we have 3 good ones.

 

Yankee, I have defended Gay a few times. Seems when everyone says he sucks, he has a big play

 

The real story to me is the fact that Cortez can't seem to beat him out. What does that say about him going forward?

 

I thought William Gay was a rookie in 2007 and earned a spot because of the hit he laid on Robert Meachum in the hall of fame game

He was drafted by us in 07. I thought Mac was wrong about that but I didn't double check it until you said that.
