Just kidding, probably because Welker is a more prolific scorer but Heath is the consummate professional, love Heath :herewego:

Good too much of a injury risk. Sanders was so happy to score a TD because he doesn't score that often.

Hmmm. Seems to me that the HC should be making it clear that such a celebration is unacceptable, and having that mindset instilled in his team, from day one. Sorry, Mike, but this "You will do this no more" routine only proves how laissez faire you have been all along.

Your criticism of Tomlin is so irrationally filled with your dislike for the man, he can do no right in your mind. Really completely unfair. He's trying to right the ship, I applaud his efforts, there's nothing wrong with having those things when the team is getting results, do you think every team is ruled with an iron fist? I guarantee you the Carrol is waaaay more loose with his player, hes the ultimate players coach, I don't see anyone complaining about his results with the team.

You no.. I think Im ok with the celebration..... if the NoFunLeague doesnt have a problem with it then I say pour it on You know that if it was too dangerous or too fun they would ban it

it still beats leftwich, which tripped over the goal line and cracked a couple of ribs. I don't care for it, because it puts the other players in a bad spot if we lose a starter off the offense. a rookie RB that has barely played at all because of injury definitely shouldn't be.

i'd rather hear the heath comparison too, BF. sorry scott, but that was the first thing I thought of too, for some reason, before I read BF's comment on it. no biggie I guess though. welkers a good player too. I just alway's think steeler first, then other players around the league.

So how do we feel about celebrating after a sack?

I was going to say, Tomlin was about year late on this one.

Don't be doing an archer routine...some of it helps to pump up the fans, gives them a good experience, which keeps them coming back and tuning in.

Yeah, a HC should never implement new team rules. If they didn't say it on day 1, it can't happen.

Put the ping pong tables back in the facility!!!!

they are playing a GAME. i say let them do what they want. who are they hurting? i dont want to see them do something that can get them hurt, but other than that i could care less what they do. i say have as much fun as you can. you are doing something that most people can only dream of doing. they play a game for a living and make damn good money doing it. have fun. why should we as fans care what they do?

This is ABSOLUTELY the right call by Tomlin. But I understand Heath is livid. ;)

Sorry, I disagree. This isn't a game to these guys, it is their job. They could potentially hurt themsleves (as others have mentioned in this thread) and ultimately hurt the team if they can't play or can't play at 100%.

I agree that he is trying to right the ship, and he will no doubt learn from it. But I can't help but let my experience as an educator come into play here.

Coaches are a lot like teachers in that the tone is set from the first day. If you allow leeway early on, that leeway will ultimately bite you. What I am pointing out here is that there has been leeway, too much leeway, and how do we know: because Tomlin is now having to take away games and publicly tell players, "No more celebrations." When you see, "I'm laying down the law, now" attitude, it's because players are doing things they shouldn't have been doing all along.

So, no, I don't think my criticism is irrational in this case. In many others it is; not here.

As I pointed out with Carroll, leeway can work. People can get complacent, this is Tomlins way of getting these guys to shape up.

I think you make a good point and I've been critical if some of Tomlin's methods too. But I can understand why he might be reluctant to take certain "privileges" away when the team is winning. When the team is losing it's much easier to look at things like leisurely locker room games and on-field celebrations with more of a critical eye.

This makes me really happy that Tomlin said to stop doing this stupid bullcrap. I was saying it during the gamethread and it was actually the first thing I said as soon as he scored. It's dumb to do that. I don't mind celebrating but some things are just stupid. We've had a lot of players do this over the years and I've always thought they were idiots for doing that. I support Tomlin fully on this and only wish he'd have ended this nonsense sooner.

Actually the vets took them from the new guys and then Tomlin stepped in and took them from everybody. This is really lame for me though because I had Brett Kiesel on my fantasy ping pong team and now I'm without my best player! Thanks coach! :frustrated:

Wallace would do it as well. We know that Tomlin is not a fan of this stuff in general because he got mad when AB did that back peddling in to the end zone last year.

You sure about that? I thought I remembered Wallace not participating in that kind of stuff. Could be wrong.
