Tomlin has banned that too. No link, on the front page under tweets.

GOOD! I would end ALL show boating. I hate when players do that and then the team ends up losing a game. It just puts the team second IMO.

A wiser man than me once said "Act like you've been there before". Makes sense to me. You don't get to showboat when you're a 1-4 team.

I don't mind endzone celebrating, the little dances, I think that's fun. It's the first down showboating that gets under my skin.

I didn't mind Sundays dive though, we finally got into the endzone on an exciting play, they were 0-4, let them have their moment, I was just happy we scored.

I don`t mind end zone celebrations either, but that flip into the end zone was just stupid. That`s a 200 lb man landing flat on his back while running at almost full speed. That`s a big impact and could easily result in an injury. It was dumb and I`m glad Tomlin told the guys to stop doing that nonsense.

I agree, I'm glad he did too, risk of injury is not worth it but I just meant in that particular moment, I was ok with it.

I've said to myself repeatedly it's only a matter of time before Brown gets flagged for that stupid hand outstretched drop the ball thing he does.

I like the move by Tomlin. Personally, I've never been a fan of those kinds of antics. Too much risk for something stupid to happen. Focus on getting in the endzone and then do your dance or salute or whatever. Save the jumping and acrobatics for leaping into your teammate's arms or whatever.

Tomlin banned all games last weeks and we won. Tomlin bans leaping endzone celebrations this week...

Me too. I hated it when Holmes did it and it looks like AB just took over that punk-move. He looks like such a D-Bag when he does that. And he WILL get flagged for it. He should have gotten flagged Sunday when he got a first, stood up with the official right next to him and reaching for the ball, AB basically tried to swipe the ref's hand away so he could take a step and do his first down D-bag drop. I wd have flagged him. AB is the best we got for sure but act like a pro dude. TD dances are fine to me so have at it when you get there. Which, you could have done had you not dropped the ball directly in your breadbasket Sunday there Antonio!!

As much as I am against the league office, IMO it should be banned throughout the NFL. It is only a matter of time before someone, on national TV breaks something while flipping. I have no issues against celebrations ( really enjoyed the TD celebrations in the 90s) and no telling how I would react to scoring a TD, but when Sanders did that last weekend, and Bell two weeks ago I figured Tomlin would eventually say something. Yes, these are grown men, and football is a dangerous sport, but why risk being on Sportscenter's Top 10 worst celebrations? Remember the TB kicker who tore out his knee celebrating? Gus Ferrotte slamming his head into the wall?

Not that Gus had much of a career going for him but that stupid antic pretty much ended it. He was never quite the same again.

I can forgive Sanders for getting overly excited, on that particular play, but I agree, it should NOT be done.
Mostly just because of the risk for a completely unnessesary injury, as has been pointed out.
Don`t laugh. It HAS happened. And on a team, where a player gets injured during WARM-UPS.... Do ya really want to tempt fate?
As for the rest of it, I don`t mind SOME celebrating, and "showboating".
I don`t want it to be the No Fun League.
But Brown`s consistent, "first down signal" has worn out. I would be ok with it once in a while, like on a critical conversion(yeah, they all are, but you know what I mean...), here and there, but not CONSTANTLY!
Same for touchdown celebrations. Fine to a point, but not when the players are spending time planning/choreographing them. Although, I gotta admit, I used to crack up, watching Ward, mock OTHER player`s dances.
Mostly, tho, I have a lot more respect, for a player like Heath, who has the class to simply hand the ball to the ref, and get back to the business of getting back to the endzone again!
Also, I agree that a 1-4 team has no business "showboating", at all, if you are hanling your business on the field, and winning games in the first place, fine, strut your stuff a little...
If not, get to work and get some wins!!!
    GO STEELERS!

It's a player's choice hell there's more players than Welker that don't choose to celebrate.. doesn't make a player anymore or less if done in good taste!

Comes down to time and place. There's nothing wrong with getting the crowd fired up, or sudden outbursts of joy at having scored. It would be a very boring game indeed if everyone did a Welker. It would be like: are you excited about scoring or not?

That said, Shaner is absolutely spot on when he says there's a clear injury risk to the flip. In fact, that was my first thought when Sanders went up in the air.

Luckily, as he doesn't play on our o-line, he remained injury-free.

This is the second time I have seen Welker cited as an example as what to do when scoring a TD, no love for Heath

Thats who jumps into my mind anyway :smiley1:

I know it is their choice (to some extent given Tomlin's new directive anyway), I know there are more players than Welker that don't celebrate (I didn't feel the need to list more than one example) and I never said it makes them less of a player.

Love Heath and his attitude. I'm not sure why Welker pops into my mind when talking about not celebrating TDs but he does.
