I'm a bit confused. I was under the impression that most fans here wsnted a win but to read some of these threads you would know it. I'll freely admit that I have been overly critical after wins before and thought the high fives and awesome air kicks were a bit over the top given how the team performed but come on ppl. It was a win give it till tuesday and then be critical and discuss. We wanted turnovers we got them now it is not good enough you want to label them gifts and wanted a 98yd interception return. The oline has a solid game for a change and we are going to rip them for false starts and holds? Why causr that never happens to probowl olines. Im just wow speechless

Sent from an over zealous Browns fan.... I'll take the win, but I'm far from happy.

didnt really have a good game. Ben was still sacked 4 times and should have been sacked for a safety. they held, had false starts and they opened no holes for the running game.

i will take the win, but lets not confuse a win with a quality win. that was far from a quality win. play like that against a top team and they dont win.

Thorn, you're from the old board. We'd be first in the division, but it wouldn't be good enough for a lot of people.

Fans just got a glimmer of hope, but a lot of people probably don't know how to feel right now. :lolol:

There were things to work on no doubt but I usually wait till midweek to start breaking things down. It was a win. They got some turnovers and prevented giving any. Enjoy it for the day then back to work

At worst, this is an 11-5 team :hmmm: Pryor said the Raiders will make the playoffs, so I guess the one more loss will be to them

I just glad they got a win. I don't care if they sacked Ben 10 times and committed 10 holds and 10 false starts.

They need this more than you can imagine. The newly drafted players experienced what it's like to win in the NFL.

I've been very critical of the oline and the defense but we won and lets move on to the Ravens.

Going from 0-4 to 1-4 doesn't mean everything is fine.

the o-line had a much better game. ben had time this week. one of those sacks was ben on purpose as he said. one of the holds was a BS call. for the most part they gave ben a much better pocket to work in. perfect? no but pretty solid for a guys first start and the guy next to him coming off of an injury. velasco and DD played well and gilbert is playing a little better. again not perfect but much better. that what we're after. build on it as we go.

At this point, a win is a win, period. The question will remain if this is the needed kick in the pants to get things headed in the other direction.

The test will be this weekend with Baltimore. They have a huge chance to continue to right the ship with a win over the Ravens. Will a win over the Ravens means all is well? NO! But it again is a baby step in getting back into the mix. They have many problems and all of these are not going away after just one win. Against a rookie QB no less.

Take the win to the bank though.

Funny thing is if that wasn't the first win of the season I'd probably be on here criticizing like crazy. But..I'm just happy about the win and hope it leads to another against the Rats next week!

Nobody is saying everything is fine Chad especially not me but lighten up folks. For every positive post I have read since yesterday afternoon there were three waiting to take a dump on it. I am saying sit back enjoy the win for a moment savor it then get back to the hard truth that it will be an uphill fight the whole year.

Not sure what you were expecting these guys didn't suddenly get a DNA injection from the best linemen in NFL history so if you were expecting Ben to be sack free I think you will be disappointed. HE isn't the most sacked QB in the league for the last decade because he has always had bad Oline's in front of him, alot of them are part and parcel of Ben being Ben. We can't have it both ways we can't say we want him to be himself and then say but we don't want him sacked. He is going to get sacked it is who he is. Sorry a bye week and a small roster change isn't going to be a miracle cure.

The holds and false starts are going to happen to Offensive Line play no matter the pedigree and as for no holes for the running game teams are stacking the box against them when they see a power run formation until they learn to walk they can't run once they do it will be a different story.

No need to lighten up. Just throwing my $.02 in.

And it's Chab, not Chad. ;)

Just poking fun. We could definitely use some optimism. Hopefully the team humiliates the Rats.

With that I will chime in! I'm trying to avoid the negative threads and only post in the positive ones (yes that has been hard to do around here). As my old coach used to say, "Boys, I'd rather win them all ugly than lose them all beautifully!". I will continue to say we go 12-4 and have a home play-off game until I am proven wrong. At 11-5 I will say possibly a home game. At 10-6 I will say a wild card. 9-7 and it could be a toss up. 8-8 I will start pimpin' my draft guys. If we can keep improving we just might peak at the right time...stranger things have happened! Now, how is that for optimistic?
