has troy bought more time with us?

I wasn't sure that we would have him back next year but if he keeps playing this way is there anyway we let him walk? I know we are just a quarter way thru the season and he hasn't played a full season in years. I would love to see him and keisel back. he still gets out of position sometime but he always has. you salary cap gurus out there tell me how big a pay cut would he have to take to be back?

 

Troy will cost us almost $11MM in 2014 cap. He either needs to restructure or he should be gone. Too old to command that kind of cap space as a safety.

 

i'm thinkin he made up for about 2 mil of that with that hit sunday, and at least another half a mil. for the leg kicks.

 

As fans we should put a fund together just for leg kicks like that. Anything that makes another players mother cry is priceless.

Troy will be back, possibly with an extension to reduce that cap hit.

We're not letting Troy and Clark walk in the same season, and it's pretty obvious which one we'd rather keep right now. Clark (despite that pick) just isn't the same player this season, and it's pretty clear he's ready to move on to an ESPN gig. Shamarko will take over for him next season, and I think we draft Troy's replacement mid-round next year.

 

I think Troy restructures his contract and retires a Steeler.
