I am putting everything on DL to confuse the Jets rookie QB and stretching DLs record to 16-2 against rookie QBs.

The only two rookie QBs to beat the Steelers while DL has been DC are,

1/ Troy Smith 2007 ( should have an asterik beside it because the game meant nothing so a vast majority of the starters sat out)

2/ Brandon Weeden .. Charlie batch started and offense turned the ball over 8 times. How could a defense win this game?

It's pretty glaring statistic if you ask me.

Yea, but they had the players who were able use his schemes to confuse the rookie QB's in the past, they don't have the players to do that anymore.

I am not so sure about that. Not throwing the towel in just yet...

For whatever reason, DL's defense doesn't seem to confuse anybody anymore except his own players.

Exactly. We haven't seen exotic blitzes in at least two years. That Cross-dog blitz with the inside linebackers is worthless.

Do you realize how much playing from behind affects what he can do? Or maybe I should say chooses to do. We are far more aggressive defensively when we have a lead.

wait til DLB throws ziggy and mclendon at DT, heyward, keisel at DE, Timmons, carter as OLB, Williams at MLB, allen and gay at corner and the land shark and ike at safety, at the jets. that will muss 'em all up. not to mention most of us.

Of course, but DL has lost some of his magic and I don't think anyone would dispute that. I don't know if it's that the code had been deciphered by the competition, the players aren't smart enough or physically talented enough or what. Maybe a combo of all of that. I don't know. Playing from behind doesn't help, but the lack of pressure on the QB and ZERO TURNOVERS through four games is inexcusable, playing from behind or not!

If we have to play more conservatively so we don't dig the hole even deeper it affects sacks, pressure, turnovers etc! It also doesn't help our cause when opposing qb's are getting rid of the ball faster than players can physically get there.
