Okay, play along will ya? All of us are familiar with the famous Jeff Foxworthy routine, "you might be a redneck". I thought it might be fun to hear from some of my fellow Steeler fans by playing "you might be a Steeler fan." I'll get us started but I'm really anxious to hear from some of you guys.

If you've ever gotten into a physical confrontation with a close relative over a Steeler game...you might be a Steeler fan! (Sorry mom, lol, I'm kidding, I'm kidding! It was my brother)

If you've ever thrown your cereal bowl at the television over a Steeler game...YMBASF.

If you've ever considered calling a suicide prevention hotline after a Steeler loss...YMBASF.

Let's hear it Steeler nation! You might be a Steeler fan...

You might be a Steelers fan if you don't turn the game off when they are losing and go cut your grass.

You might be a Steelers fan if you don't watch the games they lose over again.

Thank you for saying that. This is what i'm thinking since Week 1, where most guys seemed to quit on the team.
I was at the London game last week and what i can say:

You might be a Steelers fan if you accept Steeler Nation is a big family and you are a part of it no matter if they are winning or not.
I got cheers the whole weekend visiting London. I wore my Steelers jacket, so everybody could see what team i'm supporting and every other Steelers fan saw me was yellig Here We Go! or giving me some other support and i tried to return a good spirit myself. Steeler Nation is everywhere and thats why Franco Harris and John Stallworth coming out of a bus arriving at Wembley and they photoshoot, giving handshakes, answering questions with everyone coming around. They didn't hide waiting for their turn at the coin toss before the game. I saw Randall McDaniel / Daunte Culpepper on stage saturday interviewed by a Sky Sports moderator, but i didn't saw any retired Vikings Player on GameDay, while the old Steelers (incl. Merril Hoge) were just walking around and thousands of Terrible Towels surrounded them.

You might be a Steelers fan if you enjoy every moment you're experiencing this franchise.

This is not a demand to say this seasons isn't over. I think we should accept that there is a change needed, but i don't know how this should look like. From my point of view it's the Steelers way to let the FO decide what is best and let the doing their work, respect and trust them.

Might be a steeler fan if you sat through every game this year the whole time believing we can do this. Coming back every week to watch and not giving up on your team!
Having a set routine evry sunday morning that you cant break because if you do you feel you will be the reason they lost that day!

Might be a steeler fan if no matter what this team is doing or going through you stand by them and there decisions because after all, we have 6 super bowls!!

Ok, I think this was supposed to be fun and not yet another post to point out who is and who isnt a true fan. We all took the time to set up an account on a Steelers message board, so I think it is safe to say we are ALL diehard fans.

Now, back to the topic....You might be a Steelers fan if:

You get completely drunk (shots of rumplemints) after an especially embarrassing loss to the lowly Raiders and your teenage daughter has to drive you home (ok not my proudest moment but at least I didnt get behind the wheel - and she was licensed).

You stand in the EXACT same position the entire second half of the Steelers/Ravens playoff game after they were down 21-7 and started making a comeback.

One of your sisters shows up in a different jersey then she wears every week and you insist she go home and put the right one back on

    :smiley1:

If you find yourself buying Steelers clothing and Steelers themed gifts for friends that aren't Steelers fans....YMBASF.

If the very first item of clothing you put on your new baby is a Steelers baby jumper jersey.....YMBASF.

If you refuse to drink coffee out of anything other than your Steelers mug....YMBASF.

If you've ever listened to a Steelers game on a radio station with poor reception that was 90% static and 10% commentators.....YMBASF.

    *guilty of all*

If you have to wear a certain color of underware on game day, you might be a Steelers fan.

You might be a Steelers fan if you believe that the Steelers signed Larry Brown just so they could get revenge for SB30 by cutting him.

LOL! I'll tell you something funny. When I was pastoring my first church there was a lady that came in one night and said "don't keep us here all night preacher" and my wife said "oh you won't have to worry about that! The Steelers are playing tonight!" LOL!

You might be a Steelers fan, if your dog is named Rooney. Your cubicle is more black and gold than office furniture. You have a Steelers golf bag. You have personalized license plates stating TERBTWL. You hate everything associated with NE and Baltimore. You leave church after communion so you can be home for the noon kick. You take Madden seriously when playing as the Steelers.

Yes these are all things I am guilty of and very proud of. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Best one is my son is in first grade and he was mad when he dropped a pass at recess and said the F word when he dropped it. The teacher heard him say it and asked where he learned that word and that it is not appropriate and he responded my dad says that everytime Mike Wallace drops a pass for the Steelers. She being a football fan asked him not to say it again and then proceeded to laugh after she was done talking with him.

We still laugh at that at parent teacher conferences... :)

If you name your dog after Steeler draft picks...YMBASF.

LOL! I've done that. I had an AKC registered Golden Retriever, beautiful dog, that I named after Huey Richardson and Jeff Graham, Huey Graham. Let's just say the dog was not the bust that these players were, lol.

Yeah that is why I went with Rooney. I didn't want to have a dog with a player name and then he goes to a different team. Anything is possible this day and age.
