Sorry, I think 10 wins is nothing but a pipe dream.

My sentiments exactly, I predicted before the season
that we would go 9 and 7 and hope for a playoff spot I am not so sure of that prediction now.

he is in a weak division and hasn't won a championship since they go busted. its on record that they have one of the easiest schedules every year. besides we have won a title since they have

Probably much the same as he achieved in his Cleveland days.

Yeah, I don't want to discredit Darth Hoodie completely but people seem to forget that, just goes to show you what having a QB like Brady will do for you. I do think the guy can draw up a game plan with the best of them though.

I'm going to say 5-11. I hope not. I would be estactic if we finish 8-8 again but that want help us in the draft but at least we would have done better than what most people think.

I am guessing 6-10 to match the 1999 and 2003 teams.

I really dont see us making the playoffs. I would be ecstatic if we do, but I see us winning 5 games - maybe. I hope we come back from the bye and just go off. Also, I think Troy, for sure, is a HOFer. Ben....Im not so sure.

Come on guys. Say what you want about Belicheck but if he had Ben, Heath, Troy, Ike and this supporting cast of 1st and 2nd rounders he WOULD NOT be 0-4 at this point. And I realize I can't prove a hypothetical, but that is my opinion. He may have an easy schedule every year but the Pats generally win the games they are supposed to win. It seems we've had trouble with that even when our schedule was "easy". And in Cleveland, who did he have as a quarterback? Give him a franchise quarterback and he can do great things. I think the difference between Belicheck and Tomlin is that Belicheck is a "take the bull by the horns" kind of coach. He's smarter than either his OC or DC. Tomlin allows his OC and DC to run the show. That's fine when everything is working well, but when the ship starts to take on water the captain has to step up and DO SOMETHING.

I think there is no denying that the players in NE respect their head coach. Im just not sure that is the case in Pittsburgh and that is a big problem.

I think you're right, Beard. I really believe the players in Pittsburgh LIKE Mike. They were talking about the double fist pump he was doing with LeVeon Bell the other day. He likes to chest bump his players and is a real cheerleader on the sidelines. At times, he almost seems like a big fan on the sidelines that's lost in the moment. He's definitely a true "player's coach". That works when you have very strong veteran leadership (Smith, Farrior, Hampton, Ward, etc.), but when you lose that and you have a bunch of young guys that need to be coached up and not fist/chest bumped, it doesn't work as well.

It's not just Belichick, and it's not just Brady. The NE organisation is very tightly structured around clear goals, and Belichick's level of control is testament to this. That's also what allows him to be a 'take the bull by the horns' coach.

This is why I mentioned the Cleveland days... not as a "well, he's really not that great", but more to say that it takes a lot more than one person to make a successful franchise. Tomlin is working within the limits set by the Rooneys. I think one thing that we on this board seem to find frustrating is that, unlike in NE, where it's all on the HC, here in Pittsburgh it's not as clear exactly what those limits are.

And as you say, taking a less totalitarian approach isn't necessarily a recipe for disaster. Joe Gibbs left his DCs to do whatever they wanted. Pretty sure that Mike Ditka wasn't even speaking to Buddy Ryan in 1985.

Sorry to say but I'm in the same boat. I'm still upset they played to win in the last game last year. Most of you guys wanted them to win and go all out last year I remember that. I'm sorry I might be spoiled because I'm a Yankee fan too,so to me its championship or No. 1 pick. I am a Knicks fan as well so I do know what it's like to be down.

your nuts. troy changed the way the safety position has been played the past 10 years. he is a lock. ben has two rings and been to another. he is in. its not just the two rings. he has been a great quarterback for the nfls best franchise. I say that cause we have 6 rings. troy is considered to be one of the most dynamic safties to ever play and has done so at a high level. I will say his injuries may keep him off the first ballet but he will get there. I mean they let warren sapp in this year. sorry I did jump the gun on the 3rd. I am thinking that Antonio is gonna have a great career.

Not saying either or both will not get in. Just saying neither are a lock. Jim Plunkett won 2 with Oakland and is not in.

And yes as a previous poster stated....Think 43s injury issues will hurt him.

Do I hope they both get in first ballot? Of course. Will they? I think not!

Plunkett also only threw for like 25000 yards. Ben is already over 30000 and is on a great pace this year. Also the HOF is about more then just number and awards which Ben already has its also about the way you play. When the voters watch tape of Ben and watch him go Houdini time and time again they are going to smile. The dragging himself off the turf time and time again and playing through injury plays into it as well.

Troy is a once in a lifetime player. There will never be another polamalu. The game changing plays he has made are amazing. He stands out from his play to his hair. Jumping the line of scrimmage in huge situations are you kidding me. How many plays has he made where you sat back and said wow for me it's countless. The injuries are due to his style of play so I don't think they are going to hold it against him.

Do you think Eli Manning is a HOF lock? Everything you say about Ben is true of Eli too. 2 rings, great QB for one the NFLs great franchises, and he has 2 SB MVPs and will have bigger numbers than Ben.
I don't think Eli is a lock by any means, and I don't think Ben is either.

Now Ben could get in, but at the moment I think he is borderline.

That's because Plunkett did nothing in the beginning of his career he was a bust with the Patriots, he was able to revive his career with the Raiders.
