I wasn't sure if this show would be any good. I'm very pleasantly surprised. It's a ton of fun! (Not "funny," but fun to watch). I think this one's a keeper.

Airs on Mondays and the second episode airs tomorrow night. There's still time to get on board if you're looking for something new. You can watch the pilot episode here:

Surprisingly I actually enjoyed the pilot and will continue to watch assuming it holds up. However, the Headless Horseman with an M16/AR15 is just wrong.

My wife was just telling me about this show yesterday. She said it was pretty good and looked "up our alley". I'll check it out. :smiley1:

I just hate the fact that they set it in modern times. But I'm a DIE HARD Hitchcock fan and was really irritated that they made Bates Motel in to a series but I watched the first ep when it premiered and never missed an ep since. Hannibal was the same way. So maybe I could be wrong about Sleepy Hollow. I know it can't beat Hannibal though.

Bates motel was real good. I can't wait for the second season. Anybody get into The Bridge? It's really good too.

Seems to me that if it's on FX, it has a 99% probability of being a good show. The only factor then is if the genre is something you like. American Horror Story is always fun. Justified is AWESOME. Even "The Americans" is really good - and I thought there was no way they could get us to root for KGB agents. :lolol:

Between FX, AMC, and HBO, the networks look like a bunch of clowns. With a few exceptions of course.

Absolutely. Those 3 with the addition of Netflix have really turned television on it's ear. They've literally changed the landscape of television programming leaving the big 3 networks grasping at straws.

Yeah if you want to see an example of a network making a great show you should watch Hannibal. It's absolutely unbelievably awesome. I can't wait for season 2. If you know anything about Hannibal as a character it's set just before the events of Red Dragon.

Have you watched House of Cards? I really like political things but I don't like to watch things that have a lot of foul language and nudity and things like that. Can you tell me if it's like that? For example, Boardwalk Empire was something I tried to watch and couldn't because I just felt it was a little too much for me but I'm sure the story was probably good. Also I've heard that Game of Thrones is really good but some have told me it could qualify as pornography. Would you classify House of Cards that way as well? Or is it more of just a political thriller type show?

Can't speak to House of Cards. It's on my "I'll start watching next summer" list. (Along with SoA and Breaking Bad. Yeah, I'm the one guy who hasn't watched it ;))

Game of Throes can be very risque (as well as brutal. It doesn't pull any punches). But it's rarely titillating. I think that's an important distinction. If it's done just to attract people, then yeah, it's almost porn. But while there is a lot of nudity, most of it makes an average viewer uncomfortable (intentionally so). It's designed to show inequality, or exploitation (not that same as being exploiting), or vulnerability. It can be very frank. But if someone is getting off on most of the scenes, I think they have a problem. ;)

That's not to say it's for everyone. Clearly it isn't. Some would prefer not to see it even if it serves a story's purpose. To each their own. I'll wager the day will come when an edited version sans nudity will be available. (Interestingly, the violence will remain)

The books are GREAT though. :D

I was gonna start watching Breaking Bad too. We are big Mad Men fans and I decided to start watching Breaking Bad on NF. I've only got to watch the first episode but it seems interesting.

My problem is I don't have a ton of time for TV anyway. And my plate is usually full during the fall and winter. So catching up on old shows has to wait for summer.

Yeah I don't have a lot of time to catch up on stuff that's been out for a while. Ministry, Family, Steelers, Comic Books, Video Games, TV, Books, and action figure collecting take up a lot of time. LOL.

Starz had Spartacus, show was an absolute smash. I'm currently enjoying Magic City on there right now.

I would consider Starz an up and comer. DaVinci's Demons got a lot of praise. And I may have to subscribe for the new show "Black Sails" coming early next year.

Yeah I thought that show sounded kinda cool. If you've never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm I HIGHLY recommend it.

You know, I just couldn't get in to it last season. I love season one. Didn't care for season 2.

As for Bates Motel, I really liked the first episode. But I also never watch a show when it airs, I always catch it On Demand. And I forgot that show for a few weeks and next thing I know the episodes I missed weren't available any more. I'll see if can't find them on the Roku somewhere and catch up with last season.

House of Cards is excellent, but if you're concerned about nudity/ sexual situations, profanity etc it might not be your cup of tea. You can check the parental guide on imdb.com for this type of info.

Yeah I do that sometimes but I just figured that show was so new that maybe no one had done that yet.

Well the good thing about that show is that the story changes every year. A season long anthology type show. Works 2 ways. If one season doesn't appeal to you, the next one might. And nobody has to play "catch up" for several seasons to jump in.

I was late picking up on Curb. I'm so glad I finally got around to it. That show is priceless. Larry David is hilarious.

I just started watching Sleepy Hollow on Demand, and the wife and I like it. The last episode left a little to be desired, IMO, but it'll be part of our regular diet.

Great show. Speaking of the wife, she literally gets up and walks out when she hears the intro music. She hates it that much. Personally, I love it.
