i complain because they didn't have to keep whimper first (salary guaranteed )then they should have look before adams was struggling because anybody knews he was ,and then if they go out and make a trade don't bring a 3,6 milion bust from a team that are jumping of joy that has found somebody so stupid to clean their cap . if we had took monroe or a rookie like fragel or even both , i would not complain . this trade is a suicide in terms of money and talent if we plan to play brown at left tackle we just paid another adms 3,6 milion and a7rd pick

You don't take a guy with his salary cap hit and his level of play if you're rebuilding. You go with the young guys even if there is going to be growing pains with those guys.
It's a band aid move which tells me they still are not in full rebuild mode, just more of a remodel.

You guys all wanted the Steelers to make a move, you got it.
By the way who cares about Fragel? If the Steelers thought he would help they would have done it.

They can't drop Whimper now. He's got his money on lock.

Just to play devil's advocate ( I know nothing about Fragel ), we did sign Harrison off of Baltimore's practice squad didn't we? He almost has to be better than what we have.

He fits the criteria to be a Steeler... His last name is "Brown"...
Just kiddin, I dunno if I like the move, or not.
I`m at the point where I am ALMOST ready to say, "Well it can`t be worse"... But I know better than to say that...
As is, we`ll see. I`m hopin it helps.
At the VERY least, we can`t accuse Tomlin of speaking empty words, when he said, "We will leave NO stones, unturned...".
    GO STEELERS!!!

I don't know that we signed him off their practice squad, I believe he was cut by the Ravens.

Ok the money aspect and how we pay for him scares me but hopefully they can get by this year and see what happens. However, on the playing side please correct me if I'm wrong wasn't the Bus washed up we picked him up? And were there not concerns for Farrior when he came from the Jets. They might not have been this bad but maybe this works out. If it doesn't we cut him and don't lose cap space next year.

I agree I'm so tired of hearing about this Fragel guy most of us probably haven't seen him play before. If he's so great another team would've signed him off the Bengals practice squad by now.

The guys pimping Fragel were also pimping Valesco, they were right on the money about him.

OK, Here's the reason they went Brown! I guess the Front Office knows something about thier cap situation!
And PIT gets Levi Brown at $840K (vet min), while the Cards pay $2.8M of the remainder of his $$ due in '13. full story ahead @CBSSports

So, That blows the cap talk out of the water this year! Next argument?

Difference was everyone knew Valesco was above the line and it just happened to fall into the lap so to speak!

Just like Dumerville to the Ravens....maybe the luck is changing for this team?

WOW, the Cards are a real good bunch of folks ... the $2.8mil must be a payback for Haley not going there to interview. LMAO :roflmao:

Hmmmm... So the Cards paid $2.8MM to acquire a 7th round pick??
Couldn't they have released him and pay him nothing? Instead they took a money hit to get a late round pick? That seems like alot.

So what it's not like Fragel is the next Anthony Munoz or something. If he's so great how come the Bengals aren't starting him.

The Steelers were right on him and if they saw something in Fragel they would have made a move. These guys you're referring to are wrong far more often then they are right. What ever happened to that head case from Oakland Mcclain?
