Steelers Trade With AZ For Levi Brown

maybe you didn't see brown at left tackle ..... same as adams

 

This guy in another site says exactly what I feel:

You got to be bleeping kidding me?!? Instead of keeping Keenan Lewis, instead of signing Jake Long for the SAME MONEY... we pick up Levi Brown at $4.75 million? This is a comedy of errors. A pure panic move. you're 0-4 and Levi Brown changes nothing. We were better off trying Guy Wimper... why did we sign these people in the first place? You know what... my mind is blown. Everything stupid our brain farts can do to screw up this team now and into the near future, they're doing. It wasn't bad enough that they screw up this team for this season, but also creating dead money to go into the next several years preventing us from fielding a decent team well into the near future as well as keep our young budding stars... I'm exhausted.

 

Just a thought, can we wait and see what he does on the field before we start hanging everyone? Maybe a change of scenery will do Brown good. Just a thought.

 

I mean, if they are going to trade for somebody, trade for somebody good.

Levi is not much better than Adams. In fact, Adams is the better run blocker IMO, they both lack in pass protection.

Sorry, I don't like the move.

 

Everything I'm reading on him he was drafted to be a RT not a left. Who knows maybe a change of scenery will do him some good.

Trading for Brown confirms

We're not in rebuilding mode yet.
You don't trade draft pics for a guy that is going to be here short term.
Now if Brown was considered a long term solution at left tackle then I could see it, but by all accounts his not much of an upgrade over what we have.

 

the problem is not the 7 rd we gave away is the contract and the level of player we brought in

 

But we can cut him after this year with no cap implications.

Adams is ranked 68th?
Telling since there are only 64 starting tackles in the league.
At least Levi is starting quality.
Isn't he like 40 by now?

Based on the data from that site/link it looks like we go from Adams 3.5 sacks to Browns 4.0 sacks in 4 games.
