I was just thinking the same thing. Even if they brought back Joe Namath, I would still feel a bit uneasy the way our defense has beeen giving up big plays and lack of pressure on the QB.

I don't think a rookie has ever beaten a DL led defense, maybe once.

Yeah, I think the record against rookie QB's is 16-2 since he's been here. I could be wrong on that.

And both those losses are to guys that had relatively short NFL careers, Troy Smith (Baltimore) and Weeden (Browns), both in recent history. The DL confusion (or talent level) seems to be losing it's luster.

The Jets game will be close because of what the Jets can do on Defense. They're tough against the run and press smaller receivers. On top of that Rex Ryan has VERY exotic blitz schemes and loves to bring it on any Third and long situations.
Offensively they do have some talent at the receiver position but Santonio might be hindered still for that game and so might Stephen Hill (he's a Mike Wallace type).
Geno has been decent not great but he's a rookie. But the kicker here is their Offensive line which was pitiful a year ago but pretty decent now (they give Geno a lot of time to throw interceptions lol) and they can run block with anyone. Their biggest problem thus far is not toughness by any means its been dumb penalties which has killed or stalled their drives (Willie Colon is good for at least 2 per game)

bottom line, I don't care if the jets make a trade for drew brees or whoever is at qb. we have to win this one. this team better realize the franchise they play for. I want to see hustle. I want to see focus. I would love to see this team play as a team and not a group of individuals. I was sick when sanders pulled his little act after the int. I was pissed when I seen Peterson run left and the whole right side of our d trot to the ball. to get to the point of the thread I want this defense make smith look like a rookie.

This game will be interesting. After watching Geno yesterday, if the Steelers cannot get a turnover off him then they can't from anyone.

That was a really bad game for Geno, his other games have been better. Rookies are going to have those types of games.
