at the rate we're going, i won't be surprised if we are picking in the top 5 of the 2014 draft. do we go after an elite QB in the draft and trade big ben? similar to what the colts did with luck and manning. personally, if someone like luck is available, you got to go after him. Big ben is will be 32 and probably has 4/5 good years left. another questions is do you go after a pocket passer like luck or a runner like RG3? gotta go with a pocket passer like luck.

It depends on what the FO is trying to do. I personally feel that we're not far off (turnovers) from winning now. I think the FO agrees so I think we go into the draft looking for weapons (WR's, TE's) and stick with Ben.

With that being said, I think there is room for debate if the FO is thinking long term. Which again I don't think that's the case but if it is I think they go after Bridgewater.

Teddy Bridgewater IS NOT Andrew Luck. Luck is a once in a generation QB like Peyton Manning. The fact that the Colts landed both of them is unbelievable.

He might not be Peyton but Bridgewater is pretty good Jack..

We don't. I feel we are just a few players away from winning regularly. Now that all depends on if we can fix this oline.

We need a legitmate left tackle before we move on to anything else. Then a BIG/HUGH physical WR with some speed.

If we get that alone in the draft and they are productive, we are back in this next year.

Not saying he's not good, but if we do find ourselves picking in the top 5 we have many other glaring needs besides QB. Now, if that were Andrew Luck sitting there and we had an opportunity to draft him, I'd say go for it. I just don't think Bridgewater is that once in a generation guy like Luck.

And will our offensive line block better for a new qb?

Bridgewater will go 1 or 2, just depends on who is picking first.

I don't know that Luck is a once in a generation QB yet. The best QB in the league doesn't win the SB every year but I do think you need an elite one. I think Bridgewater could be that. Again, I don't think we entertain QB early in the draft at all.

I think you should always look for the elite and/or franchise QB in every draft.

Depending on where we draft, who's available, and the cost of moving up vs. BPA & needs is always interesting.

Its looking like we're may draft early, how early and who'll be there will determine if we pull that trigger.

Hopefully they don't do squat until they FINALLY fix the offensive line.

I think the only reason we draft a QB is because Ben has died due to being sacked 50+ times.......

For me the only reason to go after an elite QB is if you think that Ben is the reason we are losing. Otherwise, I think you look to potentially move out of the pick and down a few slots. Some team somewhere is going to be wanting to move up to take Clowney or Bridgewater. Use that to your advantage to add talent to this team. Draft a LT in the first round. Package some other things to move up and get a large physical WR and draft a Heath clone type in round 2 or 3.

I'm nowhere near the college aficionados like many of you are. If we can be patient, I still feel Ben has a few very serviceable years left. Then I would love to see us have an opportunity for Jameis Winston (frosh QB Fla St).

Not only do I agree with that, but I think that's a very realistic scenario.

Yes, exactly, gotta get that LT in the first round, come back in the second and draft Deone Buchannon the Safety from WSU to pair with Shark on the back end and you are starting to put something together.
