Wow just Wow

I am normally a very patient person when it comes to this organization, coaching staff and players but this is ridiculous. I read this morning ( link below) that Tomlins excuse for not taking Adams out of the game and making a change? What... Guy Whimper could not possibly be any worse ...

Tomlin really uses that as an excuse. Adams sucks and its perhaps the worst LT this team has ever had. What a disappointment.

I like Coach Tomlin but enough is enough. And how about those timeouts to save the lock and then decide to let it run down anyways .. His game management ability is clearly suspect.

In Tomlin's presser he said that Whimper wasn't ready from a preparation standpoint. That really infuriated me. I don't care what the general norm is. If you are a pro you should prepare as though you're starting every single week. If Tomlin truly believes in the concept of "next man up" then he would make people prepare as though they are playing. It's like some of these guys are just content to have a roster spot and that's all. If the coaches can see that a guy is not prepared why do they even activate them?

 

That one statement sums it up in my opinion. WHY the hell is Whimper not ready to play??? So, if Adams blows out his knee (instead of just plain sucking), the next guy in line is not READY?

 

Whimper needed "a job" to keep from being homeless so Tomlin felt bad for him and gave him a roster spot. That is the only thing I can come up with as a reason for him being on the team but not ready to play. This admission should have Tomlin on a hot seat, I know it won't but it should, and the o-line coach needs to be fired!!!!!! Kugler at least made the patchwork partially work, this guy has made a mess out of what little we had.

 

Yes BFT and I think thats what infuriates me. Why in all that is holly would Tomlin A> Not be prepared with the Standard lol B> Admit a player is taking about a roster spot and is essentially ineffective.

This admission alone is going to cause alot of people to jump from buildings lol

I agree totally. Whimper has actually been with the team longer than Velasco but he can manage to get ready and when Pouncey went down Beachum moved over to center. Why isn't Whimper held to the same "standard"??? The Rooney's need to have a serious talk with Tomlin and Whimper should be sent packing. It kills me that HE is active and NOT "prepared" but Moye EARNED a spot on this team and HAS A TOUCHDOWN and has been INACTIVE ever since!!! Man that burns me up!

 

So by being patient you mean when they start losing? Lets face it up til Ben got hurt last season we've been competitive for quite some time. It's really only been like ten or twelve games that we have struggled and you're losing your patience with the best team since the NFL merger?

No glenn. by losing my patience with this team I am sick of seeing a NFL caliber team play like a bunch of high schoolers. Sick of seeing us keep big money players that are not performing at the level they should be and SICK of seeing no changes only weekly platitudes? Do you get it?

Did you see whimper play in the preseason...the guy is just bad awful...no way do i put him there..besides beachum is a LT by trade..he would swing out before whimper...

 

I think its inexcusable to have a guy taking up a roster spot that cannot play LT any better then Adams. ..

We are in really bad shape if in fact that is the case.

only the idea of signing whimper show how our head coach evaluate the players , if the standards are j.scott ,adams , whimper , at one of the most important position on the field , the tomlin standards are not the steelers ones

 

Why isn't he prepared? What is our oline coach doing? What if Adams would have gotten hurt? If the backups are not ready then why are they on the roster?

 

There is blame to be had from the top to the bottom. We're done for the season unless we can 13-4. And we won't.
