Spend more high draft picks on the O-line they whiffed on the OT Adams and Gilbert.

I could not agree with you more, it does not matter what else they do, until they fix the oline nothing else is going to matter.

You know what really hurt? We traded a 3rd round pick for Shamarko Thomas and that pick's probably going to be a top 1o pick in the 3rd round. I have no issue with Thomas... but I'd have rather taken JUST Thomas in the 4th, and kept JPP as our 3rd QB.

Good news is Mike Wallace seems like he will do ok enough in Miami, and with LSH being our biggest signing, we should get a 3rd round pick in return.

What makes you think we have the talent evaluators for O-lineman that can find us a true solid LT?

Not being mean spirited, just pissed off we whiffed on two rd 2 draft picks.

We hit on 2 1st rd picks and it seems we got lucky getting Beachum.

People praise Colbert for hitting on 1st rd picks...... Stupidest thing I've read, In my world you better hit on 1st rd picks and should only be praised for finding diamonds in the rough.

I know everyone deserves a second chance, but Mike Adams got caught on a drug test for pot. I mean doesn't that have to speak to his character as a football player? His desire and intensity to be the best? Shouldn't that have been a red flag for this team???

Colbert said "oh he wrote us a letter saying he has changed and its all good now." Don't be such a fool! You know darn well his agent typed that letter up and he had Adams sign it?

Adams didn't write a letter, he drove to Pittsburgh to meet them face to face and apologize.

What's this got to do with anything anyway? He hasn't had any character related issues in the NFL. Adams still has all the tools to be a very good OT, and is only what? 24 years old?

Everyone has said it. We have to go back and draft more olinemen. But before that we need to fired our entire scouting department because they seriously blew it when they put Mike Adams and Gilbert on our board. Or we screw it up by drafting them so high. These guys are no better than Beachum and he was a 7th round pick.

I don't know who is making the call on drafting these guys but he needs to be reevaluated seriously.

Does anyone know who many offensive lineman we've drafted since drafting Ben?

How many have really panned out?

How many offensive line coaches have we had since drafting Ben?

This might lead to some answers why we can't get it right.

I'm gonna have to agree with you 5859. The only O-line position I would touch in the 2014 draft is LT and that is ONLY if we do it 1st round. Aside from that, we should look to Free Agency to fix our line. I have no reason to believe we're gonna whiff in round 1 (we usually don't), but our OL picks have been pretty bad recently. No need to keep drafting scrubs in the top 3 rounds of the draft. We need more proven commodities up front, not more young question marks. That being said, I like the Tackle from FL ST that others have mentioned before. If not, you trade back and maybe make a play for offensive weapons (WR,TE).

It has to do with work ethic and drive. You don't have much when you are smoked out.

DraftCountdown currently has us taking the DT/NT from Notre Dame. I don't know, seems to make sense to me. Not sure how he has done this year, but he made that defense pretty special last year.

    No.

I think this was all argued out at the time, so no point in revisiting it.

Performance on the field tells you about his character as a football player.

We haven't exactly hit a homerun yet with DeCastro and Pouncey.

Maybe it's time we take a hard look at what's going on in our scouting department.

erving Florida State or Richardson Tenn. both left offensive tackles. both can run block but also know how to pass protect in a pro stlye offense and know the ZBS. rd. 1. this could actually allow us to trade back a little if we are top 10 this year. <very likely. also gives us more picks.
