    in preseason we may see a lot of this, not just because of ben, but our backups are both new to the system. this is what they are good at. this is what they would run more of if they had to play. they are not ben, and they will be used to manage games.

    with ben it will be more wide open with alot of this spread in to help the pass rush. there will still be weapons for ben but everything goes up a notch when heath is healthy.

    I just don't see him completely healthy for most of this year. remember heath got hurt later in the year. Johnson's still having trouble. spence? DD wasn't right when he first came back last year. b. batch played but he still wasn't right yet. mendy wasn't right last year.

    bottom line is we are going to have to use a lot of different sets to keep ben upright and spaeth and Paulson are going to have to step up their games.

    since heath is back now for at least part of a game, and we should get bell and cortez back as well, I thought I would rehash this question from back in training camp.

    how important is not having heath been to our offense? this one is pretty obvious actually, I think.

    is it time to find us another really good TE to team with him before he's gone? or maybe two?

    is spaeth and Paulson and DJ good enough? should we quit the experiment and draft a couple more next year?

    I'd say at least draft one more TE. I still think Spaeth will have knee problems if/when he returns.

    I agree and think it could be a pick no later then the 5th to even have a remote chance of getting one worthy of being a #2. spaeth just isn't that type of player and was really against him being picked up in the first place.

    we missed our big dog and to replace him will take a high pick down the line.:cool:

    I`m just happy to see Heath back on the field, and playing more than I expected, and better than I expected, this early in the year, and more importantly, with no ill-effects of being on the field and giving it his all.
    At least that I`m aware of. Everything I`ve read, says he came thru the game fine. No re-injuries/unexpected pain...
    WELCOME BACK, HEEEEAAATH!!!:applaud::yeehaw:

    It was a planned limitation. They held him back a little to try to prevent a potential setback. Sounds like he's still good to go.

    I kind of figured as much. they did the same with keisel and mclendon it sounds like. I don't have a problem with that thinking from MT. it's a long season.:cool:

    Now if we could just teach heath to hand the ball off, pass and block for himself our season would be saved. I'm not saying we would win the Superbowl but I'm say I would like our odds.

    your right, he has become probably the second most valuable guy on this team as far as need. it's going to be tough finding another heath we've found out.:cool:
