can't believe that we're still trying to figure out who can play the 2 tackle position. this should have been solved during training camp and preseason. I feel like we're still in the preseason mold trying to figure out who our starting tackles are. totally blame it on our OL coach/Tomlin.

    Did someone say musical tackles?

    Sorry. Couldn't resist. :D

(let's not mention that 80% of those hits or so would be flagged and fined today ;))

I think the staff thought Gilbert would eventually come around and get with the program. That is not going to happen. I would start Beachum at LT and move Adams to RT and be done with it for the year. Then depending on draft spot go after the highest available T on the board. I would also sign Velasco to an extension and move Pouncey to LG replacing Foster.

I would do everything except move Pouncey to guard. I would move Velasco instead.

Gilbert takes a lot of heat, and usually, it's justified, but according to PFF he was graded as our #2 lineman on Sunday night. I believe DeCastro was #1.

Kind of ironic that he gets pulled in his best game of the season.

And I also like the idea of Pouncey at LG and Velasco at C.

Yeah and these men jumped to their feet and played twice as hard no limping to the bench or taking rides just to find there names on the IR that evening! Today we are seeing a mass production of pussy's hitting the field. I think i saw Godwell in the bleachers cheering these hits on...though since he had to start generating outrageous pentalies and fines to pay the on going compensation to injured players. (safety my a** its kitty $$) I'm sure there was a few concussions from this group but point is.. if you package a deal make sure you have the funds. Don't take away from football on how it was intended to be played and that's... Smash Mouth!!!

Thats because he responded to his benching whereas Adams did not. Maybe we will see a different Gilbert going forward.

They aren't trying to figure out who can play tackle, they are trying to light a fire under some of these guys. I don't doubt that Adams and Gilbert have the talent, they just don't seem to be able to put it together.

I still say at the tackle position we need to go back to the basics. Give them the go ahead to just lay people out by running the ball. When this happens, you can get into play action etc. and maybe just maybe keep the D off balance enough to buy a half a second. Getting a running game will help, not solve, our Oline issues.

Pouncey at guard for sure. I liked legs better as our center and given time would've been legit at the spot. Pouncey to guard and then send him packing at contract time unless he decides to man up and be reasonable with his contract demands (which I don't see happening).

You know, this assumption may be a long shot on my part... But I believe if you own you're spot and desire your spot then you lessen your chances of getting injured! Sure, freak accidents happen here and there... But the dude that ain't willing to be mean in a fight, usually goes home with a fat lip and bloody nose and a piss poor excuse for how it happened.

I disagree, the one bright spot on our line and you want him to leave?

Not necessarily want, but expect he'll demand more than he's worth with his fragility and half ass play. He's good, don't get me wrong... But he ain't as great as what we once thought he was going to be
