I want Ben to play. Just asking the question of why benching for turnovers don't apply to Big Ben.

I guess if nobody wants any turnovers the best thing for Ben to do is fall down like Payton Manning when anyone gets close to him. he has made his living on the edge of a sack for years now. Thats the way he plays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We all love him when he scrambles for 20 yards from side to side and throws a completed bomb.

Ben is like Obama. No matter what happens, he is not to blame. This behavior is nothing short of cultish. Your eyes tell you one thing, but the press, fans, TV, whatever tells you that you really didn't just see Ben blow another game with INT's and his fumbling.

Not his fault. O line cannot block. Defense gave up to many easy scores. Receivers ran the wrong route or dropped to many balls that well, even Shaq could not jump and catch. Accuracy? He maybe gets lucky, but more often it takes a circus catch to bail him out.

I am on the side of Haley not being the problem, per say. Ben is not fitting with his program. I am with you in that he has gotten an awfully long leash and I do think it could not hurt to see No. 2 in there. Maybe Grad's skill set is better suited for Haley's offensive skeems.

I don't know, but it is getting old to hear Ben take the blame once again for his poor play. At some point, folks need to put down the Kool-Aid and take a deep breath of reality.

In case folks don't know, Ben is not the Messiah. He is not the answer for what is ailing the Steelers. The list is long, but his name is certainly on that list.

Take the politics somewhere else. I'm starting to feel like a broken record...

Instead of Benching Ben, I would love to just take the reigns from him and go back to the 2004/2005 offense of his rookie year. Power running. Protect the ball. Eat Clock.

it has been debated ad nauseam over the years, but one point is he could throw it away more often - the fumbles came on 1st and 2nd down. honestly, i am surprised he didn't just protect the ball better (with two hands)

It's a simple comparison that is it. I'm not going to start a political thread here and no politics was intended, but it is what it is. Ben can do whatever he wants, good or bad, and is never called out. He is the golden child.

OK, well take the simple political comparison's somewhere else. It's a reoccurring theme.

I would actually disagree, Ben gets called out often. Ben gets criticized by a share of the fan base, ALL THE TIME! Both fairly and unfairly. Look at this board , is it really hard to find posts critical of Ben? Heck, you can find them in virtually every thread.

Sure there are some who will defend to the death the QB that won 2 SBs and for them he can do no wrong. But there's plenty on the other side. There are those who want to bench him, trade him. In my mind, equally crazy.

Did Ben lose the game last night? Oh yeah.
Should he be holding the clip board for Grad next Sunday? Not a flippin' chance.

Noll benched Bradshaw before their first SB, but never after.

It's not the "Big" hits jarring knocking it loose. Maybe let the D slap him a little in practice instead of coddling the QB like they currently do during practice?
