If the offense holds on to the ball, as well as the Patriots, and commits just two turnovers the past three games, the Steelers are likely 3-0, not 0-3. Furthermore, if they had 6 takeaways, a la New England, they'd be even more likely to be 3-0.

Yeah, I know...I'm just trying to point out that this is a huge part of the problem.

I agree with you, but 12to88 makes a good point here: It could easily be resumed to ball security, and would've been a quite different story if we hadn't lost the football and took it away from them at least once per game.
With that unique factor changed, ceteris paribus, we should most likely be 2-1 or 3-0.

There's no excuses in football, they are exactly what their 0-3 record says they are, and there's a very good chance they will be 0-4 after they visit the UK.....

Im truly not trying to be a pain here, but I dont understand the "as well as the Pats" part. Do you mean like the Patriots? Are you saying if we would hold onto the ball like the Pats, we could possibly be 3-0?

Hey I think Ben has done a lot for this franchise, but he is directly responsible for like 6 of our 8 turnovers including the fumble in the first game against TN where he turned the wrong way in handing off to Redman. The Pats have had struggles early on, but say what you will, even though Brady is the king of the 5 yard pass, the guy rarely makes a mistake...where as w/Ben it seems like you are just waiting for the next mistake to happen.

But we didn't hang onto the ball. We didn't force turnovers. Why not just say "if we make plays and they don't we'll win." That's such a pointless comment to even make. Teams that make plays win games. We aren't making plays, at least not enough of them, and we haven't for 3 games in a row. I don't see it changing either. We've been a turnover machine for years now and we haven't forced any in years either. This isn't just 3 games, this is 2 years in the making. We've had this problems since we lost that SB to GB and nothing has been fixed.

The defence doesn't get a pass from me. Defences need to get sacks and need to get turnovers. We're not going to shut down Rodgers or Manning unless we get sacks and turnovers. We will not win a SB without forcing turnovers

Yes. I think we can all agree that turnoers are killing this team, as well as the lack of any takeaways.

Steelers are 2-8 in their last ten games, dating back to last season. And by my count, they are -19 in turnover margin over that period.

Unlike some crapping over the topic saying it doesnt matter at this point or w/e...i think i agree...especially in Sundays game (I was there)...of the turnovers in that game they got 23 points off of them. Not saying the Bears wouldn't have scored more than 17 points as they could have...and yes the Steelers could have scored more than 23. But I think especially how the team came out and played better in the 2nd half...that they could have won that game. But anytime you turn the ball over that much AND let them score off of them (being down 17-0 in the first alone didnt help either)...its hard to win!

Well, if Ike doesn't fumble and the Steelers go up 9-0 on the opening drive, the entire complexion of that game would have changed. I agree with you that the o-line is a problem...but in some cases the two (line play and turnovers) are connected.

If Ben played as well as Peyton Manning, we'd be 4-0 now!!!!!!!

I'm on the woulda, coulda, shoulda train. There's nothing new in the last three games that we didn't see in the preseason and honestly, the end of the year last year to some extent. We're 0-3 because we've played like an 0-3 team for a multitude of reasons (which may actually scare me the most, because there is no one issue here).
