"RELATIONSHIP????" What are YOU looking at??? LOL. I'm with you and I think they really don't like each other. When I was at the game last week I was watching to see how much they communicate and was even on the front row watching warm ups with another fan and I was like "man look at how far away they stay from each other" and he said he thinks they don't like each other as well. Marshall Faulk was talking about how it's obvious that Ben and Haley don't like each other too. Deion said he thinks this thing is going to come to a head "momentarily". So I guess we'll see. I highly doubt it.

Sorry folks. This post was in response to "Concussion's" question about Ben being one trick pony. Obviously I'm as screwed up as the Steelers here this morning :lolol:

I think the reason for this is because Cowher would make his feelings known on the sidelines. Honestly, did you think it was wrong for Cowher to let a guy have it? Remember when Holmes was a rookie and kept muffing punts in the Cleveland game I think it was and Cowher LIT HIM UP on the sidelines? I'm not trying to be condescending or inflammatory. I honestly would like to know if it bothered you when Cowher would let the guys have it? If I could just see some fire from Tomlin SOMEWHERE I wouldn't care if he sang nursery rhymes during his pressers.

If saying anything in a press conference was directly correlated to coaching ability, Belicheck would be the worst coach in the NFL. It's not about TALKING, it's about DOING!

He did find the checkdown man some but he was able to find an open man in the soft spots of Chicago's zone as well and those proved to be a better option. I criticized him last week for not taking the checkdown when the deeper routes were covered, this week he had guys in the intermediate routes come open and got them the ball. I was impressed by Ben staying in the pocket and delivering the ball, yes it got him hit a lot but he was able to deliver strikes downfield

No, really don't know what you or anyone else is talking about? I don't know why you guys spend so much energy getting upset over these pressers, it's a complete waste of time to have them, it's stupid when they put mikes in the players faces during the game, stupid when they catch the coach going into the halftime to ask him questions, stupid when they do post game interviews, THEY AREN'T GOING TO TELL YOU ANYTHING! Just stop with all the interviews, it's a waste of time. Of course they won't but it is a waste of time.

I agree that it's nothing. I'm not saying I would like to see a meltdown because I wouldn't. I only like to see that from OTHER people's coaches and I LOVE that. LOL. But with Tomlin it's just that he says nothing. I feel like they owe their fans an explanation but instead they just spin things and answer in platitudes. It's really annoying. Also can you tell me why Moye was out? I can't find the reason and I'm sure Tomlin doesn't feel as though I need one. LOL.

Are there any more good, offensive minded head coaches in the CFL that we might be able to recruit? Seems to be working well for Chicago.

And Ben had a few good games last year while getting rid of the ball quickly. Extrapolate that over 16 games and he could have been in the MVP running last year. Obviously that's not how it works, but I think it shows that Ben is capable of doing it, at least sometimes. If he can do it for 4-5 games in a row, why not 16? Why do we so quickly accept that Ben can't run Haley's system and it's Haley that's the problem. Maybe Ben is the problem and maybe it's time for him to go. The guy hasn't won a big game for us in a long time anyway

I don't know about you but I'd LOVE to see a meltdown from Tomlin.

It'd be the first time we've seen him have any fire or the inclination he gives a damn.

I'm a fan of a fiery coach. The way Tomlin carries himself drives me nuts.

What I wouldn't give to see him kick someone in the ass, and I don't mean just a benching.

Tomlin IS in over his head! He can give well-spoken quotes and his players really like him, but don't fear him!
    Haley is simply an idiot!
Colbert may have lost an eye for talent either in the top half or bottom half of the draft for the last 5+ years!
    Rooney's hired all three!
    Now who's to blame!!!!

how about using the shot-gun? Get him more time. OR bench him after 3 turnovers. That may shake his ass up.

Who says the players like him? I don't think that's an accurate statement: I saw the FIRE HALEY signs last night, but it's time to see FIRE TOMLIN signs in the stands, he had his free ride with Cowhers team, but last year and so far this year he is the one responsible for this mess, and when a company stops turning a profit the board of directors fires the CEO, not the mid level managers, the 7 year honeymoon is over for Tomlin, it's time to hold him responsible for not turning a profit.........

How is it that Ben has become more and more of a turnover machine as Cowher's influence is more and more in the rearview mirror?

He had 4 turnovers last night, and almost a 5th one when he dropped the ball on a run, and who is going to hold him responsible, well certainly not miss tomlin....

Hey, I agree with you, hence my statement that Tomlin is in over his head! I have heard and read numerous times from players and people like Tony Dungy, Herm Edwards, Tedi Bruschi, etc that most players on the team like him and like playing for him! Have you EVER seen Tomlin get in the grill of one of his players on the sidelines when they have obviously effed-up? NO, not saying he doesn't behind closed doors, but I have seen plenty of talented and successful coaches get in the players grills on the sidelines during the games because they show who's in charge and don't care if the encounter is caught on tape or not!

It amazes me how bad some of the fans radar is, you guys cannot read people at all if you think Tomlin is a push over. If you want to say he lacks the ability to coach people up and he's solely a motivator, fine, might or might not be true but if you think he is soft, no ability to read people at all.

It's Haley's fault that Ben is so stubborn that it's his way or no way. I'm not saying we should get rid of him,but someone really needs to sit him down and ask wtf his problem is. I really think that rib injury scared him stiff and he thinks it's Haley's fault for keeping him in the pocket. Why else would he refuse a system designed to move the ball and keep him safe as safe can be,on a football field.

After Wallace (croc arms, one trick) and Mendenhall (dances, soft) I wondered who the next player this board would turn on, come up with some perceived characteristic and insist on pain of death that the player only ever does that characteristic, ignoring any time they don't.

Turns out the answer was Mike Tomlin.

It also seemed to me that Ben's hand was bothering him a fair bit last night, from the really early knock.
