Seriously...how bad a sign is it that they are subbing in Beachum at RT AND LT during this game. There is a miscommunication on the line nearly every single play. I'm not even exaggerating.

Tell me about it, and People want to blame Haley?????

Look what he has to work with.
Ben has about 1.2 seconds to work with.

The line needs help from the TE's and RB's too though. Collins is right. The blocking got better once Dwyer came in.

Jones is just learning out plays and how to block for them. Cutting Dwyer is turning out to be a huge mistake. He should have started day one.

That may be so, but the main issue is that there is a serious problem with this line. If you go back and watch, you've got guys missing assignments repeatedly. The RBs really have nothing to do with it.

I've been very critical of this line for a while. I can't say anymore about it other than they might be the worst starting five in the league. I said in the begining of the season it's going to be some growing pains with this group.

The linemen just aren't athletic enough, including DeCastro. Lots of draft whiffs that'll take quite a while to make up for.

    Problem = O-Line

I have never seen a QB get hit as much in one game as Ben does. It is ridiculous. Pressure on him, no matter who we play, is going to happen. That was the main cause of the two fumbles.

Our tackles are absolute garbage. I cannot fathom why they are still starting, let alone on the team. Adams gets beat nearly EVERY TIME, or gets pushed back into Ben.

I was all for blaming Haley before, but the blame lies directly in the O-line. Take away the 23 points our offense surrendered to the Bears, and we win the game...because we would have had that many more opportunities to score without the turnovers.

If they can find a good player in Velasco on the streets to come in and start and be their best offensive lineman, they can surely find tackles on the street.

    Unbelievable how bad they are.

They are bad but Ben often holds the ball a long time so that adds to it.

Yes but don't you think that Haley and MT should of seen this during preseason and practices. This is what we were trying to say during the preseason. It wasn't the wins and loses, it was how they were playing.

Many of us here were saying this during the preseason, and many here were saying it was only preseason. Please never say it's only preseason.

No! He there are defenders all over him every play, regardless if he gets the pass off or not! He takes the hit...on every play! Watch the Falcons or anyone else and maybe 10% of the plays the QB takes damage. Ben takes damage literally 90% of the plays. That means the o-line is just plain bad.

And it is mainly the tackles, as Peterson beat Adams all day and Gillbert was bad enough to have to be pulled.

i read a while ago that the most intelligent players on most football teams are the offensive linemen. They have a lot to remember and then execute. It looks at times our zone blocking scheme is for linemen to find the zone where no one is rushing and then stand there wondering what they should do, while next to them someone is double teaming another lineman into Ben. I think in addition to being perhaps average talent, they are dumb.

Our team may not be talented, but I think they are also stoopid. And that goes from the front office on down.

Yeah, I saw ESPN breaking down the Cincy game and same thing, guys don't know who to block, defenders run right past them. Is Bicknell making it to complicated? I've never seen linemen so confused.

Tomlin said in his presser that we're basically gonna start looking for linemen on other teams. He said something like "we're gonna take the necessary steps" or something but he was referring to outside hires.

Well that is good. I wish he would just be blunt and say that Adams and Gilbert are wretched and we swung and missed badly with them in the draft. Too bad Starks signed with someone though. If they were able to snatch him and he came in to stabilize the o-line yet again...they should seriously add him to the team Hall of Fame.

It seems like we do this a lot. We always end up out trying to find tackles to take over for our bads a few games into the season. Flozel and Starks come to mind.

I'm listening to the post game right now and they're saying there's no way Haley gets fired during the season. They also seem to think Tomlin is safe period. They said you can't blame this on Haley because we had almost 500 total yards of offense.

My prediction ... if we go 5-11 or worse, both Tomlin & Haley are gone after the season.

I don't doubt that Haley goes but I do doubt that Tomlin does. I'm not a huge Tomlin fan but I just don't think they will let him go.

This game wasn't on Haley, can't turn the ball over that much and expect to win. I doubt he goes mid season but if they don't turn it around by seasons end, bet he's gone.

Tomlin will get a lot of rope before the Rooneys ever fire him, does anyone really think the authors of the Rooney rule will be quick to can him??? Cowher had 3 straight non playoff years, Tomlin will get at least that.

I just want to see a rebuilt offensive line. I want our current fatties to get fired wayyy before Tomlin or Haley. Make a trail of cookies from each of their locker rooms to their cars, and when the reach the parking lock, lock the doors to the facility and never open them again until the new fatties arrive.

This is the Pittsburgh Steelers we're talking about, Tomlin's going no where. Sheesh
You people w/ the coaching carousal, the ones that got us in this predicament in the 1st place by running a winning BA out of town. Here's a concept "If it works don't fix it!"

DeCastro looked plenty athletic enough out there against the Bears. He was making blocks everywhere. We do not need to replace him. He's working. Sheesh again.

Gilbert and Adams are another story.
