Can someone explain why they continue to force feed us these two when it seems better players are on the roster?
Jones was clearly running better Monday night and even when Dwyer got his one carry it was for positive yards.
I would think Wheaton has to be a better option at this point than Cotchery ?
    Maybe I'm missing something here?

I clearly think Jones is the better option at running back but I'm not sure of Wheaton right now. He seems like he's unsure out there. Just my observation. Plus I don't think he know the offense good enough yet. Hopefully by mid-season he has taking over for Cothery.

You'd have to ask the coaching staff. No one here is going to be able to answer that. Redman can't seem to play a game without getting evaluated for a concussion. Dude's going to be announcing his retirement soon at this rate. He only had 3 rushing attempts Monday night though, so I'm not sure I understand the force feeding stuff. I think the real question is what has Dwyer done to piss the coaching staff off so much? Seriously.

Because Jones is not the answer either. He was brought in because of injuries and not to be the #1 back. Having said that the performance of Redman and Dwyer has
been lack luster to say the least .

Incidentally they are reporting FJ will get the start against the Bears

Should we do a blockbuster trade like the Browns and give up on Le"veon Bell and see if we get a number one pick?

I would love to know what Dwyer done as well. Maybe they set some sort of benchmark and he didn't meet it or something.

I don't understand the hate for cotchery. he's not the guy throwing the passes behind him and over his head by 5 yards. he is leading the team in yards per catch and is one of the two WR's that has seen the end zone.

Really, we finally get a good back that can run in traffic, he just had a bad break with injuries. the way we are playing we may not have to worry about trading for the #1 pick. (I really hope I am way off on that one).

Exactly, both of them have a place in the nfl it's just how they're being used that's infuriating. Cotchery is a solid possession receive that's has no business being used on reverses or end around plays. Redman is not an nfl starting running back; however, he could be a solid short yardage/goal line back. Of course mr wizard didn't see enough last year and is still trying to run him east-west.

The coaches like Dwyer, remember they weren't the ones that wanted him cut in the first place. LOL ;)

i like Cotch, but he shouldnt be in the game for 47 plays. hes a possession wr and they are using him on almost every play it seems. we know what he brings to the table. hes got pretty sure hands, but hes not going to change a game with a huge play and when he makes the catch hes not going the distance.

this team has no one that has stepped up as a playmaker on offense. i would much rather see Moye and WHeaton getting those chances.

or we can wait another year or two when Bens is completely done to put those guys in.

IMO the really sad thing is, that if not for Plax's injury, Moye would be likely sitting on the practice squad.

I honestly don't know why Felix Jones was limited after his productive carries other than this Coaching staff has a game plan set and sticks with it not matter what is working at the time or not. It's very frustrating to watch knowing that in game adjustments just don't seem to be part of the equation going into each game.

Using their Dwyer preseason logic, maybe they are getting them on tape for a potential trade. LOL :smiley1:

I was a redman fan but he's digressed way to much for my liking. even the short yardage part.

in sunday nights game on the third and two, foster pulled turned up field, didn't really hit anyone but would have easily led past the sticks but red turned out of the hole back into the teeth and got stuffed. he's terrible at seeing holes or following the block as he should. we would have kept the chains moving and he blew that.

That's not exactly how that went down, Mac. Foster's slowness clogs the lane, Iloka stuffs the hole, and Redman gets wrapped up by Maualuga before Foster even gets to the next level.

Redman- he's better at pass protection and we all know Ben needs that. He's also better than Dwyer at receiving out of the backfield. Problem is he fumbles just as much as Dwyer so why the love for him over dwyer? He also isn't cut out for the zone-blocking scheme. Jones is better equipped here but problem is our OL isn't any good in any blocking scheme. Maybe, just maybe, Redman is our sacrificial lamb @ RB until our OL becomes a viable unit. Hopefully soon.

Cotchery- When Ben scrambles for his life, which is far too often, he needs a WR who is skilled at finding a open area in the defense with solid hands. He does this very well. I agree Wheaton may be a better option than Cotchery but let me put this out there. Leave Cotchery alone as he fills that niche perfectly. Instead put Wheaton in for Sanders. Our 2 WRs, AB/Sanders are quick receivers who are having trouble getting separation. Wheaton could be that guy who can get separation, beat the corners and open things up. Sanders is auditioning for a big contract and it won't be here.

Bell could turn out to be worse than Amos Zereoue. We have seen three preseason rushes from him. Anyone who thinks that he will immediately come in and turn our offense around without any prior indicator that he can do just that, should probably be evaluated for a concussion like Redman was on Monday night.

I think it's fair to assume that he will be an upgrade to the RB situation and help the team. Turn the Offense around? Probably not in his first game.

How are we getting a number one pick for a player drafted in the second round that hasn't seen the field yet?

from the view I saw from the EZ, if he stayed on fosters lead they both went beyond the sticks. redman cut to the left into the tackle. I thought that was one of the best pulls and turns upfield I had ever seen from foster and even thought to myself, I've never seen him pull that well and red blew it.

I do agree he's slow, don't get me wrong, but was also thinking that was what kemo couldn't do. kemo could hit a target sitting in the hole but he struggled at turning it upfield if nobody was there.

I don't know TTF, I went back again and looked at it. red runs over #29 10 out of 10 times if red stays on fosters hip and follows to the left. there is no way he doesn't make that first down.
