besides the O-line troubles, mostly gilbert shouldn't be a 2nd round pick nor on the field, we need and are really missing some TE play.

what the heck are they trying to do with this position by waiting for two guys to comeback and the season will be over by that time for us.

    make some moves Colbert.

these are our move the chains, guys in this offense and such a big part of it. it also gives us big targets for ben. it also makes the run game go. we are very TE deficient right now and could use a good vet brought in that can do two things, block and catch the football. we will still need a second one when heath is back.

I think heath is back and while paulson is no heath he can catch and is getting better blocking. With spaeth back i like the three we have. I know i am in the minority on that though.lol

I agree, Mac. The way we use TE's, we have a serious lack of formation flexibility. However, I have to ask- who's out there right now and with what money? I'm pretty certain we roll with who we have right now.

I don't understand why we are holding on Matt Spaeth. He is not that vital and you can't tell me there is no one on the street that can do what he can do.

Paulson should of lived in the weight room this off season because he gets push around like a rag doll.

I agree with you on spaeth and initially ask why we wouldn't just IR him this year. by the time he's back we are already in a deep hole.

I understand why we kept DJ for the first week with will Johnson hurt, but now it's time to replace him. palmer showed me more at both phases of TE play then DJ ever will. why he's not on the field is beyond me. I believe he is also better then Paulson as a blocker and receiver.

IMO, the O-line depth and TE are both areas that should have been better than half-assed addressed during the off-season; I also think that Spaeth will have either foot or knee problems if/when he does return.

On a somewhat related note ... Can teams that aquire players make them take MRI's as a part of their team physical??
IMO, I think we got "damaged goods" (knees) with both LSH and Spaeth.

I've thought will heller, randy mcmicheal, reggie kelly may be a couple of vet guys that could be brought in. we have strapped ourselves with cody Wallace if he's not a keeper.

keeping beachum on the bench and having to use him as a TE was a real reach and should have been addressed well before the season started.

i'm not sure what these vets would cost right now two games in, but some suspect moves and waste's of money have occurred, when we knew how important this position is to making this offense work.

there are a lot of TE's sitting out there as FA's right now. Fernando helped this line so far, one more move with the money left could help a lot more, even for when heath is back.

it's holding us back. you are probably right about us rolling with who we have, but I don't see it helping going forward.

we did free up some money with the restructure of heath I thought.
