I didn't see this thread started so I thought I would get the ball rolling.

    - The offense is in trouble. Losing Wallace & Miller has left the offensive cupboars a little bare. We need Miller back - bigtime.
    - David Paulson is NOT an NFL TE. He is a complete liability all around.
    - This is the worst I have ever seen the Pittsburgh Steelers running game.
    - Big Ben's career may have peaked. I love watching him play, and he is under alot of pressure, but he is making mistakes out there.
    - An end around to Jerricho Cotchery? That immediately put Haley on a hot seat for me. Stupid play.
    - David DeCastro needs to get stronger. Although we should be calling more plays that maximize his ability to pull.
    - I thought our O-line played well, considering the D-line they were going up against, but they obviously need to run-block better.
    - Steve McLendon may be able to create a little pressure up the middle, but his ability to stop the run and clog running lanes isn't where I would like it to be.\
    - I am disheartened as I continue to see Jason Worilds on the field. I think its OBVIOUS who the better ROLB is.
    - Kion Wilson/Vince Williams are not ready to play ILB for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I am putting this one on Colbert. We should have found a better replacement.
    - Why is our #1 WR also our punt returner? That's asking for trouble.
    - I love our defence, but stop playing the CBs 7 yards off-man when it is 3rd and 3. We really need to start creating turnovers. How can we be so inept at it?

There's probably more, but I need to end this off with some positives.

    - Our ST was vastly improved in this game.
    - We pass-blocked better than I expected.
    - We have shown success when executing deep crossing patterns. USE MORE OF THEM!
    - Jarvis Jones is a BEAST. He needs to be on the field a lot more.
    - Ike Taylor may have the occasional clunker game, but he is an elite cover corner. Too bad he can't catch anything though.
    - This is the best Troy has looked since 2010. Clark is balling hard too.

I think you covered most of it,not sure if i read Gilbert is terrible, its time to let Beachum play that spot..

Even if we can't run we can't abandon it so early, need to keep pounding it until we can find a play this OL can block....

The end around to Cotchery had me off the couch, yelling at the TV!! WHY would we run that play?? We have an OC who calls plays that dont match our personnel.

Our QB has to be leading the league in overthrown passes. No idea what is going on with Ben, but it needs to be addressed.

The D wasnt horrible. The Bengals have alot of weapons. Ike didnt do that bad on Green. Considering they were on the field an obscene amount of time yet again, I think our D was ok.

Running game is non-existent. Why we called three running plays in a row to start the game is beyond me.

As mentioned before, Gilbert is terrible.

The defense should send Andy Dalton a big check as a thank you for all the bad throws, this game could have been a lot worse. How do RBs continue to run through the defensive line like a paper banner week after week? This is sad to watch, and why they keep cotchery I'll never know but he is a wasted roster spot. Paulson, I had some hope for him but he is plain soft, and DeCastro is flat out weak, he looked so promising but at the NFL level he is just weak, the strength and conditioning coach need thse guys to be in the weight room a lot more.

Not just the end around play...Ben threw to Cotchery almost every time he was on the field.. like he was the only receiver on a pattern...would have liked to see more of Moye

They run that play with Cotch and keep Wheaton on the bench  I don't know, I think Wheaton may have been better at that.

My MOTHER could have run it faster. I like Cotch but that play is for a speedy guy. Wheaton would be perfect. Or AB or Manny....

:lolol: I get that they were trying to catch them off guard but he's too slow, they can recover from any initial surprise.

No carries for Felix Jones in the 2nd half, after being effective and showing some quickness in his 10 carries.

This team has been on the decline for a while now and after last night can't see how it can get much worse.....Tomlin saying the answers are still in the room thing is just more BS from him, yea the players in the room are still there but not getting any better in the last eight games or so. Few wins since mid season last year and into this year. Less than a hundred yards rushing in the last two games with a 2.8 average last night. If I had to say what I think about the Steelers now I would say old, slow and in decline and the coaching just doesn't know the answers. A shame having a great QB like Ben and letting him stand back there and get beat up on almost every play. Then I look at Brown, he seems to catch the ball and run across the field rather that up the field, hard to find anything positive about the Steelers on offense right now, so I better shut up.

Did not watch the game but was listening to it on ESPN radio and when this happened Boomer was livid. He said what is going on with the play calling. He went on to say why would you run that play and even bigger question why run it with your slowest WR. Boomer called out Haley several times on the radio for calling a bad game. At least fans aren't the only people who think this.

Bingo for me. You're only down by 7 most of the game, yet you go away from someone who was running hard *and* gaining yards? That's a head-scratcher there.

Our offense has no "fire", no sense of any urgency, not from the players, not from the leaders (Ben), not from the Coaches (Tomlin & Haley). Are all these people just content to fail drive after drive? 17 offensive points after 2 games, that's pathetic for one game's production let alone two, and each time they walk off the field everyone just seems so nonchalant.

    I don't understand at all.

I want to know if anyone else took note of this.

During pregame they showed two practice plays.

The first was from the Bengals where they seem to be going all out full speed and Giovanne cutting the corner and heading down field.

A few seconds later they showed Ben taking a snap and the whole offensive line and defensive line were all engaged in a half hearted effort and literally just going through the motions. Right at that second I knew that they were less prepared. I maybe reading into more than what it actually was but I really had a feeling at that moment that this game would be a struggle for the Steelers.

Why doesn't this team ever seem fired up anymore?

I hated when Ray Lewis came on the field and acted like a maniac but when was the last time any Steeler player had that type of emotion. Peezy comes to mind but after that it's like these players are getting ready for some boring business meeting.

Tomlin needs to right this ship or go down with it.

Wheaton was literally right beside Cotch on that play. I kept saying last night that we've played 8 quarters and have 19 points. Our D has been on the field for 68 minutes in 2 games. We have 1 sack and no turnovers. I was actually saying in the stands last night that I miss Casey because he was so great against the run because he was so much bigger than MCCLendon. The D is better than the O but it's not what it used to be. We can't get off the field consistently and we can't get any penetration. I am excited about Jarvis but I wish they would turn him loose on the qb instead of putting him in coverage so much. The Law Firm was running it down our throats at will and when is the last time you seen someone do that to a Steelers D? I know we had been on the field a long time but I'm still surprised by how well they could run it against us and just chew the clock. They held the ball 38 minutes and had 20 points. I'm just not a big fan of the bend but don't break d when we're not creating pressure on the qb.

Before the game even started, Cris Carter said that the whole Todd Haley thing just isn't working. I don't think Todd Haley is too high on too many people's list... other than the Rooneys'.

Now I know why he fell to the 17th pick. Actually he probably should of went lower. I know it's a vast different coming from college to pro's but if you are suppose to be the best guard in the draft somethings we shouldn't be teaching you again. Some things you should come in the league with. His technique is horrible. I don't know what he was doing out there.

Maybe he is still suffering from what he did to Pouncey. But he needs to get his act together rather quicky.

You're not reading to much into it. Its the same attitude they took during preseason. Everyone saying preseason doesn't matter and we'll do this when it counts. Hello! when you accept losing at any level it will continue into the regular season.
