Maybe Titans aren't quite as bad as people think. Nearly beat Houston and hung 24 points on them. I really think our game was lost when Pouncey went down, completely effed up their game plan of using Beachum at TE and they could't make the necessary adjustments.

Valesco being available was a Godsend, I think we will look much better tomorrow offensively, they marched right down the field before Pouncey got hurt. and I think the infusion of a few rookies on the defensive side will help create some TO's and just try and limit some of the mental mistakes they are bound to make.

They're not the same team from a year ago. They actually spent a but load of cash to get better, and it showed last week, as well as today. They are honestly, a decent qb away from being a damn good team.

As far as us guys go, it's all about line play and attitude. Hope both show up in the next 24 hours.

I get the whole "any given Sunday" thing, but there was NO excuse for the Steelers to lose and stink up the place at the same time in your opening HOME game of the year!

    Think what you want.
And Pouncey going down, definitely hurt us.
Made me miss Legursky, actually, and I never thought I`d say that.
Pretty sure we also cut Malecki, we`ll see if Velasco is a "Godsend". I for one am hoping he is...
All that aside, you still can`t convince me that we lost to Tenn, because they are a vastly superior team to the Steelers,
As much as we just couldn`t get the job done on offense...
I`m REALLY hoping they show me otherwise on Mon nite, but, unlike in past years, I`m not really expecting it.
It would be more of a pleasant surprise, than validation of what I thought would happen...
Ya really think Silverback, and our division rivals are gonna be easier to beat, than Tennesse?
IF, we can play well on offense, without turnovers, and excessive penalties, YES we can win...
It`s time for us to show we can do that!!!
    GO STEELERS!!!

I meant Godsend that he was available because otherwise where are we at right now? And by all accounts, pretty good center.

Titans are looking to be better then some gave them credit for. I noticed that people are always underestimating our opponents, like they don't have any business being in the NFL.

Should be a pretty good game tomorrow, fact is, we don't know who anyone is this year, still too early to tell, why does everyone think they have the league figured out after 2 games.

I must have been one of the only ones who thought the Titans were better than their record last year/etc.

    Yeah. parity`s a *****..
In the 70`s, we were 0bviously, head and shoulders better than anyone else...(unintended Troy pun there, sorry...).
In the 80`s/90`s, the Niners took over our title of most dominant team in the league...
Then in the 2000`s, the Pat`s cheated their way to that title...
Now, any team can pretty much have a good chance of beating any other team...
Even the Clowns, and Faiders, Bucca hoes, or whatever team you wanna think of, that has traditionally SUCKED... Bills, Dolphins, whoever...
Neither of them have suckd all their history, but lateley... Jets, Jacksonville, whoever you wanna say is the WORST team in the league, really ain`t that far away, "talent-wise", from the BEST...
    Is what it is...
Just means we have to play better, and get back into the conversation of bein the "best team in he league"...
Right now, we ain`t showin it, and I don`t really get why.
I have no prob with our defense..
I have a HUGEProblem with an offense loaded with players like Ben, Antonio, Sanders, Heath, whoever the runninback f the day is, Pouncey, DeCastro, etc... not getting the job done.
I thought getting rid Of Arians would be the answer.
    Clearly, I was wrong...
    O.k...
    The line`s been a mess...
We`ve tried to fix that, no?

Hate to think we are just an "average" team, right now...
But I would say EVERY team in the league is "average" right now...
Pats, Green Bay, Denver, New Orleans, Carolina, K.C., Atlanta, whoever your "flavor of the day" is...
They are really all pretty much equal, talent-wise...
We need to find our friekin "heart", again... that`s all that could seperate us from the rest of the pack...
    I`m ready to see it....
    GO STEELERS!!!!:herewego!::herewego::steelflag:

Seattle may be the team to beat this year, watching them now, their defense is scary good.

I said that they weren't last year's titans in another thread. Could we have smashed them? Absolutely, but this talk of them being them back then is crazy! We should've smashed them last year and we didn't... They got better by honest accounts, and us... Well, that remains to be seen. I think we potentially could be better than what most think, but I cant sell that logic to the team or its staff. That's their job to do!

    Nah. Never hold back. :)

Seeing Tennessee do well against Houston may not mean anything. They could be overachieving and Houston could have had a bad day. Or it could simply have been a favorable match up.

But it made me feel just a litle better about last week at least. Rational? Maybe. Maybe not. But I'll take it for now.

the fact remains the same. the Steelers lost at home on opening day to a team they should of beat. i could care less what the Titans did against the Texans. also not to be to picky about it, but the Texans won.

True. And I agree with you that we still should have beaten the Titans. I just meant that seeing the Titans hang tough with the Texans, made me wonder if we are AS bad as I thought we were. We are still bad. And, who knows...maybe its the Texans who arent as GOOD as we thought?

Not sure how much it is we are bad or Titans are improved, but Titans front-7 Defense impressed me, and the way they ran the ball on us toward the end of the game to kill clock was equally impressive.

I just hope our run D looks better from here on out.

The Titans hanging with the Texans doesn't make me feel any better about week one! The Texans beat them and we lost to them at home. That was a home and conference loss for us, period!
