Rednab probably knows he needs some holes to get any type of running game going.

 

Velasco at C means we can fill the TE hole, and hopefully actually have a run game. Who knows, maybe Felix Jones gets the ball as well?

We will see how he plays. Is this guy known to be smart? If so, and he plays well, maybe we should scout brains with average physical talent vice raw talent. It seems maybe the best olines are not necessarily those with the most physically gifted linemen, but those with good physical skills but just as importantly, very good football brains.

 

not to jump to early , but velasco was rated pretty high in general nfl discussions

 

The good part is he played in a zone scheme last year so he really could bring some much needed experience in the zone.

 

Im not sure where I read it but I saw e was rated on PFF one slot above pouncey. Steelers depot did a couple gifs on the guy and seems legit. I think he is and will be a nice pick up.

The only reason the titans let him go was draft pick behind him.

Im anxious to see how he does.

 

Yup Steelers Depot did GIF's of him against Cincy in preseason and he was handling Peko pretty well!

He started all 26 games last year for the Titans. Speculation is they wanted to see if they could pull a Dwyer and get him back cheaper and guaranteed as the back-up this year.

that says a lot about their offensive plan. if a guy can come in and pick it up in 1 week that tells me a lot. no wonder other teams stop their offense so easily. must be pretty easy to figure out.

some of the guys on NFL radio have been saying that we do not have the personnel for this zone blocking. I am not an x and o guy so any word on if big V is a good fit? Does not really matter I guess, has to be an upgrade.
