Well, our latest "savior" is out for at least another month. Tinker Bell that is. A foot injury after only 2 runs. Can you spell, durability? Get ready for that top 5 pick in next years draft.

Troy guesses wrong more often than not nowadays....seems like he used to always guess right when taking chances? He still has the speed, but he is definitely not the same player.

I'm worried about those X-factor type players on offense. This rookie RB from Mich St... I'm hoping he turns out to be special, and not just good.

Antonio Brown can be special, but without Heath and a running game it is easy for teams to scheme him out of a game.

We need Wheaton to be a deep threat to at least keep teams honest too. I'm not sure, was he even in the game vs. the Titans?

Yeah and he made a REALLY rookie decision on a kickoff that hurt us bad. I'm not saying we would've won the game but he REALLY needs to be coached up on his decision making.

Troy really hasn't show the kind of run the receiver down speed in a long time now.

Yes he gets to the ball carrier fast, but once he's in trail forget about it!

You do know that some injuries just happen, right? If I get hit by a car and put in hospital, that's not necessarily due to my exercise regime or general stamina.

Jack Lambert ended his career with turf toe. That's not because he was a wuss, or even because he was ageing. It was because some injuries you can't prepare for.

    Give Bell a freaking chance.

You basically have 5 ball players that are elite if healthy,Troy, TIMMONS, Ben,Heath, AB. What I have a problem with is that the Steelers do not get the ball into AB's hands where he could actually do some damage.(not enough time maybe).Jarvis Jones could also be an impact player we shall see, needs more upper body strength. Wheaton is going to be another player to watch. Troy could still be special, just not sure his body will hold up. Guess's wrong alot. Ben, well you have to give him a chance to make a play,he is too busy running for his life. TIMMONS needs to be TURNED LOOSE. Funny thing after reading all these responses, no mention of Lamaar Woodley even though he gets 55 mil? Don't you think he should be IMPACTING games? After watching other teams offenses does, ours seem a little hard to watch?
San Fran/Green Bay game? Is our team hard to watch LOL?

I think five impact players is still quite a lot for one team. People mention Adrian Peterson... ok, and who else? I could name another few on the VIkings, but probably not more than 5.

A bigger problem with this team at the moment than impact, is everyone getting in sync and executing.

I agree, though, that we don't seem to play to our strengths a huge amount at the moment.

troy ben and heath , should be special the others are good but you can find a timmons or a brown in almost every other team in the league . right now heath is injuried and ben has no time to do anything behind this oline .

Not sure what you are referring to, but if you mean Troy's flying tackle. Yeah it was cool, but not really needed. The D-line would have swallowed the play up anyways. Plus he made 2 or three mistakes freelancing prior to that that didn't help us.

Wheaton, yes I saw the kickoff return, but I'm not sure if he was in as a wide receiver, which is where he will really help this offense that doesn't have Heath or a decent RB playing.

You just hit on what`s been bugging me the most, for the last year, or so...
I don`t watch a whole LOT of other games, but I do watch a fair amount of other football games(or at least, parts of them), and recently, it has been bugging the crap outta me, how much better other teams look, than us, at moving the ball down the field, and getting in the friekin endzone!!!
Even college games... I know they are playing less difficult defenses, than those in the NFL, but...
I just don`t get, why we look so "out-of-sync", compared to most other teams I watch...
Maybe I should watch more of the Clowns...
It might make me feel better.
But compared to any average, or above average NFL team, we just look like kids playin on a playground...
Maybe that all has to do with "Ben`s preferred style of play", but I could swear that was changing at the BEGINNING of last year...
    Now... Not so much.
I don`t understand it, and I don`t like it! No sir! Not one bit!!!:rant::frustrated:
I still think getting rid of Arians was the right call, but, I am starting to wonder if I was wrong, when some posters have pointed out that he played to Ben`s strengths...
I guess the bottom line is... the line.
Until they at least play decent, we are gonna get what we`ve been getting... A mess on the offensive side of the ball.
Haley`s quick hit passing game at the beginning of last year looked promising.... Where`d it go?
    GO STEELERS!

ben has to trust his arm and make the throw. with this o-line right now he hasn't the luxuary of pump faking and waiting for another guy to get open farther downfield.

I saw on one sack that the slot was running a post and he broke free to the inside and ben was looking right at it and pulled it down then bang the sack. he has to relearn what he got used to playing in BA's offense. yes that's his thing and all but if you want to be elite as they say you have to adjust your game as such to the offense being run.

he hurts us at times doing that. this offense is made for that ball to come out and it's for his own good and the good of this young offense.

Agree. Our season hinges on the play of Ben, and he needs to anticipate the route and make the throws earlier. Sometimes he's just too visual to be totally effective. We'll recover from the Ten game, no doubt about it as that performance was mostly a fluke and a settled OL will help in that regard, but our hope for a "good" season lies squarely with Ben.

Thanks guys. Good to be back! A lot of "life" happened the past 6 months and things are settling down now. New job, first child, 1000-mile move among other things!

Looking fwd to Jarvis opening up a can on Dalton as a welcome back gift!

In addition to lacking the exciting, impactful players, though I think we have a few, I fear our real issue is that our journeymen players are below average. I recall seasons when I barely knew who was on the offensive line - they weren't great, but they weren't a liability either. I think we have gone the way of other teams in the salary cap era - a few exceptionally gifted players with huge contracts, and with the money we have left we have lots of weaknesses. And when one or two of the key players gets hurt, the below average talent level of the rest of the team really begins to show. And is id really tough to coach up lack of talent.
