I am actually stunned to read that Ben was 7th among QB's on Sunday. I would have never guessed that in a million years.

Good catch. He's definitely been to a Steelers message board at least once in the past few years. :-D

His stats weren't all that bad. Just goes to show: stats don't tell the whole story. Sacks never appear in a QB's stat line.

Interesting list of QB's: he rated seventh among all quarterbacks in Week 1 behind Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford, Carson Palmer, Jay Cutler, Andrew Luck and Matt Schaub."

Brees, Brady, other Manning, and Rodgers didn't make the list.

There ya have what? You're not seriously suggesting that QB's don't have input into the playbook? You think Peyton and Brady have no say???

I still get/got the feeling that Ben and Haley are not/will never be on the same page. I feel like they are saying all of the right things, but I just dont think the connection is there between the two. This is the first change I would make to be honest. We tried it with Haley- it didnt work. It happens.

We have no receiver on this roster who is a #1. That is a problem. AB I like, but he is never going to be a top 15 WR in this league. And Sanders, he's a slot guy at best. And even then does not have the hands to do that job. He's gone after this yr. We have to pray Wheaton urns into a beast!

Difference is: What Peyton and Tom want to do WORKS. What Ben wants to do gets him killed behind an o-line that's a sieve. One is being strategic; the other is being stubborn to a point of hurting himself and the team.

    true this
added to it the fact that this is proof there is no control of this team by the coaching staff

I always leaned to the fact that ben is too slow to read a defense ,so I guess Haley had to dumbdown the offense

Just shows Haley and Ben are working well together. No sense in Haley putting something in the play book that Ben doesn't feel he can do.

I think we win more than 4... but I can't disagree that we looked like a 4 win team on Sunday.

What Ben does has helped us to win 2 SB's. If it means shortening Bens career so be it, changing him is not the way to go. Smartest thing BA ever said was and I'm paraphrasing, "I tried to changed a QB once, ruined him". You tailor a game plan around a players strength, you don't try and put a square peg into a round hole.

    This.

If I recall correctly, 12 to 88 you think that Kordell got a bad deal in Pittsburgh because they tried to make him into something he wasn't. Am I correct? Well forcing a PB that Ben doesn't like or feel comfortable with IS forcing him to become something he's not...the same thing they did to Stewart.

    no
I think it is more along the lines of Ben getting his way
the way he did with BA sticking around you know the OC soooooo many here hated and wanted bgone
    the coaches have zero control
