Which opening day performance is the worst? The 2011 35-7 drubbing they took at the hands of the hated rival Baltimore Ravens or the 16-9 suckfest that was the Titans game?

I voted Ravens, but the 1989 season opener was definitely worst.

(In the "modern" era, that is... I'm sure the pre-70s teams pulled out some shockers as well).

It was a nightmare. I was hungover. Football in Cali starts at 10am. Went to this waterfront Sunday brunch and it was full of Ravens fans. My only memory that remains is this raven wench cheering her head off when Ben got hurt. I think I blocked out everything after that.

Yeah, I cannot, in good conscience, choose to vote, when a 51-0 drubbing to the Browns isn't on the ballot.

It is on the ballot under "neither, had another game in mind".

The 51-0 shallacking in 89 gets my vote! It was U-G-L-Y!!!

I remember it, trying not to.

And thank you for bringing up such a painful memory, while you're at it, why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it.

Both were equally bad, the only difference is the ravens had a better offense going against us.

No body cares what we did back in the day: We just got beat by a middle of the pack team, with a B level QB, we better worry more about getting embarrassed in front of a national audience Monday night, or, we might just be back here next week talking about our worst Monday night loss ever, if we don't turn this titanic around this week were going to hit the iceberg Monday night....

unfortunately, I remember that game all too well....... the following week was equally ugly......
Fortunately though, I also remember that we got it together and made the playoffs that year
