Playoff teams beat teams they are supposed to
Top 5 Defenses hold teams down when they have to

This year we play (3) teams whose team starts a ROOKIE QB
    1/ Bills - EJ Manuel
    2/ Jets - Geno Smith
    3/ Raiders - Terrell Pryor

And (2) teams who start QB's with less than 2 FULL years experience
1/ Browns - Brandon Weeden (we play them twice)
    2/ Dolphins -Ryan Tannehill

And (2) teams with a QB with less than 3 FULL years experience
    1/ Titans - Jake Locker
    2/ Vikings -Christian Ponder
3/ Bengals - Andy Dalton (again we play them twice)

That's a total of 10 games boys & girls and I say these are games that a STEELERS DEFENSE is supposed to go out and win for us. I don't care what scheme we use WE ARE SUPPOSED TO WIN THESE GAMES ON GP (General Principle)
If a Dick Lebeau's Defense is SO exotic and complicated it should be able to confuse the opposition and win THESE 10 GAMES, NO LETDOWNS, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Obviously injuries hurt what we may scheme for but I'm not a man that accepts excuses for they are the tools of the the incompetent, they build bridges to nowhere and those who excel in them seldom excel.

We don't as of yet have the personnel to bring back Blitzburg but I need to see every man on that Defense go all out
Communicate and cover each others back like life depended upon it. William Gay I've lost 2 remotes over your play (Threw them at the wall), let's go man!

To Coach Tomlin & Ryan Clark if you're reading this: Texelwols

    Let's have a great year!

The only person in that group that you mention who is different to me is Dalton. He has proven he can beat us, maybe not on the back of his arm yet, but they beat us last year and it is the only reason we missed the playoffs. That being said, the others should be games we can win.

There is one other factor not looked at here. There are 3 aspects to every game. For instance, when you have 15 possessions in a game on offense and turn it over 8 times....you are going to struggle to win, no matter how good your offense is. When you QB throws an INT which is returned to the 10 or closer with just a few seconds on the clock...it is hard to win. Lastly, when your special teams stink as bad as our did last year, you have games that you should win...that you don't. Defense, yes even great defenses, can't win every game on their own. I expect great things from our D this year, including more turnovers mainly because I think we will get more pressure from our NT, get improved play from our LBs and Troy is healthy, but there are 2 other aspects of the game which dictate wins.

Last thing....I think the FO and Tomlin likes the starting talent of this group. Why? Because they are using the bottom part of the roster right now to fix the 3rd most important aspect of the team. You don't do that unless you like the guys you have for the other parts of the game. Some of our rookies and 2nd year players are going to make HUGE contributions this year, I just feel it. I am excited for this team, despite 0-4 preseason.

this philosophy is perfect for a team like new england , rats , gb or indy with peyton (i hate them but they are good examples) but not sure if is good for us since we usual play down the competions and a lot our loss come from garbage team (kansas oakland cleveland..) then they beat soundly the giants and the rats with batch . so in theory that is what we should have to do but at the end we will be in the war with everybodies ,up and down as usual

When was the last time the steelers blew out somebody? i'm talking when you can put reserves in in the 4th quarter? It won't happen this year. It will be nail biters for every game.

I disagree about the Browns and Bengals games. Division games are tough to win regardless of who the QB is. Sweeping them wont' be easy

Agreed! Last night watching Denver was a pure example of putting the pedal to the metal! Up 35-17 starting the fourth and Manning is slinging it all over the place. We would try runs, draws and god-awful screens to bleed clock. Manning is better than Ben, but I would take our collection of receiving (especially when Heath is healthy) over their receivers yet we try and just hang on! When Peyton Manning retires, let's throw a bunch of money at him to be our OC:), kidding sort of, but you know what I mean!

Hate to burst your Manning man love but last year's AFC Championship against the Ravens, two minutes to go Broncos up by 7 looking at a 3rd and 7 and they did what? They ran the ball. They took the ball out of the great Peyton's hands even though he is their best player. THAT was THE opportunity to go for the kill because if they pickup a first down the game would've been over. The Ravens score but Denver gets the ball with about 30 secs and 2 timeouts. Guess what Denver and Peyton did? He didn't exactly sling it lol

Slow clap.. :applaud: Nicely done but unfortnately it means nothing. Vegas does more with these kind of stats then what actually transpires on the field. Would love nothing more then to see the Steelers beat all odds but..

and the but will continue until at least the first game in our division.

I picked us to win 11 and this seems to validate that. I think 11 games is totally rational and analytic and not just totally all homer-y ya know? But I like the homer's records a LOT better just to be clear! LOL.

I'll take Ben, you can have Manning. Comes down to the wire, seconds to go and you need a score for the season, yeah I'll take Ben.
