Ingest mistake that school ever made getting rid of their stadium. They should build a new stadium and training facility. I don’t know where but using Accrisire is t the answer.

 

Just watched a YouTube video on Bruno Island. If I was looking for an area to build a college football stadium near Pitt an unused island in the Ohio River seems like a good place to start.

Do a google earth search over Pitt Campus and tell me where you going to put it

 

What about the Peterson Sports complex? Seems like Pitt has some usage of it already. Ill take your word for the area since Im not that familiar with the campus.

 

You almost had it right. The Stadium was built in 2000, with the first season in 2021. That makes it 25 years old, when the Steelers lease ends it will have been used for 30 years in 2031.

Steelers need to leave both their shared Stadium and shared Training facility behind them and build something modern to compete with everyone else. As far as I know the Steelers are the only NFL team to share both their training facility and Stadium with a local college.



Last year the Chiefs made plans for their move in 2030, it is time for the Steelers to start planning for their 2031 move.

And then where do you put a soccer and baseball field

 

Thats the part that's hard to judge on the maps. According to maps the footprint for both PNC and Heinz is smaller than what they show for the sports complex. What do the public spaces look like down there because it looks like a lot of green spaces which could be converted but then you have to look at putting them back in new locations.

 

Schenley park would be a good site

Pitt like a lot of teams should close up shop. Pitt is no longer able to compete in modern day college football.

 

If they had accepted Joe Paterno’s offer to form a new league they would be viable. They did not. Aragant ****s. **** them.

 

Maybe expand the campus into the hill district a little bit. They need to clean up the hill district and put a better road through there to downtown Pittsburgh and do a highs-end transit system through there to Oakland. That would really connect downtown with Oakland.

 

Well I love the location of their stadium. I think they do as well. I don’t see them moving. There is way to much build up around there now. I see the, u-grading the existing stadium.

 

‘well once they lose a couple football powerhouses from the ACC conference that conference will probably end up being primarily a basketball conference with the football almost being like a B league. Who knows if Pitt will even have a football by then.

 

That's a good point. The college football playoffs have made conferences irrelevant. The college football playoffs have also made the Bowl Games irrelevant. Paying players has made college for them irrelevant.

 

Since the Pirates always suck maybe Pitt could use PNC Park

that’s goofy logic. Pitt football generates more money than probably every other sport combined at the school

who cares. Soccer and baseball aren’t making any money for the school. Build the football stadium. Pitt basketball used to be good but no one goes to the games anymore because they are TERRIBLE. They only need to seat 12K for basketball. 30K for football.

 

Soccer and softball are also women’s sports



Eliminating them for a men’s sport most certainly would be problematic legally
