It maybe a very precognition of a song for future events, but it still sounds like crap to my ears, but each to their own , or to each their own, however you like the saying

 

I have a relative who hates Steely Dan with a passion. I can think of 10,000 other bands to hate before Steely Dan.

I like the latter-day Steely Dan... jazzy/lounge rock stuff (Aja/Gaucho) better than the earlier classic rock material they were doing in the early 70's.

 

No way. I freaking love all versions of Steely Dan.
Still one of my top 10 most listened to groups

 

Their earlier stuff blended in with a lot of the status quo rock music in the early 70's. I thought when they went the more jazzy route in '75... their music became more unique and they stood out.

 

I love both versions, and I like all the different guitar players that have played with them

Acdc sucks, unless you have to be beat over the head with the song title to like something, and you like that you can tell what the lead will sound like, and can hum it before you ever hear it. Then then you may like acdc

 

AC/DC is awesome... but many of their songs are overdone as hell. I'd rather use "obscure to the mainstream" Metallica from Lightning, Puppets or Justice... than Back in Black, which has been done to death.
