People should just start to assume this

It would save a lot of confusion

"(Yahya) Black can be one of the best noses in the game if he just keeps on doing what he's been doing, and is working his butt off," Peko said. "Really good on his technique and his details. I just want to sharpen him up and get him really going, and try to bring out the best in him."

    - Steelers defensive line coach Domata Peko

Ok one positive vote from someone knowledgeable

And one negative vote from someone not so knowledgeable

You’re sleeping on Rubio. Watch the tape. I hope they both do well. We need it.

    Look around

I stated long ago they needed to find a roster spot for him

But I won’t know if I was right until he takes a snap or two in the NFL

I don't know if he really is capable of being a nose, but perhaps a DT like Heyward.

Oddly enough, Rubio is the only defensive lineman the Steelers list as an end on their roster. They have Black as a DL and the rest as DT.

Coaches talk up their players, and the old man laps it up. That's funny stuff.

I am very pleased to have both in the rotation. I think black is a better pass rusher vs Rubio against the run.

Yes, we have gotten rid of the Mike Tomlin experiments of Leal and Loudermilk.

Hated both those Draft picks as they were not 3-4 DEs. (Leal was a 3rd, and Loudermilk cost a 4th)

Love seeing when people are big enough to admit stuff like this.

To me this is kind of like all the Pony backfield stuff we seem to have heard most offseasons with Najee and Warren. Did it a fair amount in camp. Lots of talk. Almost never in games.

I like the idea of getting Herbig on the field more. But I'll believe it when I see it.

Will also require these three guys to stay healthy. Which hasn't been all that easy so far.

It’s a different coaching staff. Maybe they will actually do what they say and not play in their fears.

The point is he played a lot of NT in preseason. You had mentioned that wasn’t his position. Just wanted to point that out that’s all. Carry on.

Hope that Rubio turns out to be a badass.... but right now we only have 2 NFL quality starters on D line.... Heyward and Harmon.

Agree just like Benton isn’t a true NT. This coaching staff came in and immediately moved him 3 and 5 tech. He will still play NT at times in passing situations. Under Tomlin I felt like we did that crap way too often. We did a disservice last year to Friermuth under utilizeing him. I know that was on Smith but as the HC that’s when you need to inject yourself into the situation.

I also believe that’s partly why they cut Roberts. They figured they will be going with some hybrid looks with Herbig lining up at ilb to get him on the field and drop him in coverage or blitz him. If Herbig played Ilb full time he probably would be our best ilb.

Next time you have trouble telling us apart, remember that I'm the one who makes clear claims that I support with evidence. He is the one who keeps referring to his opinions as facts.

That’s more than a lot of teams and we have a ton of depth. Benton is a quality starter from a pass rush perspective. Joseph Day is a quality starter from a run defense perspective. The key is to mix the talent and rotate to keep them fresh. We didn’t do that well in the past.

That's because you routinely post your opinions as if they are fact and if the Steelers would just do it your way they would win the SB every year.

    Please stop!
