The line is a problem, but has enough talent that it might come around and be decent at some point this season.

The same is not true of safety. Maybe Elliott returns at some point and plays well, but right now, it is a mess back there. We saw what poor safety play did to the defense last year. I see little reason to expect any better in 2026.

I think it’s too late for that. I would rather just put Max in. I wouldn’t mind seeing Dunker start sooner rather than later as well. I know that’s alot with two rookies right next to each other. Dunker is a massive guard but the way. He gets a lot of push in the run game. Looks good in pass protection as well at least against st 2nd and 3rd team guys.

Joe Milton and Will Levis are available. Just send everyone deep and let them heave it 80 yards.

    I think that's a pretty good 1 thru 3.

O-line is definitely number 1 for me. It's a long long time since it's been consistently good. Since Pouncey, Ramon and DD in fact.

Have you seen him play this year in practice? I haven't so I have no idea about his arm strength. Dude is going to be 43 this year. I hope you're right.

Play calling. Will we utilize the middle of the field, the tight ends, traps, quick outs, the fullback, crossing patterns. We have not used any of those enough.

Absolutely we will. This is a west coast offense designed to spread the defense out laterally. Did you not see all the crossing patterns in preseason? Thoseareeasiercompletions as well for the qb.

You, of all people, should not be critiquing the way someone phrases a post.

As a former journalist and current English teacher, I am as well qualified as anyone here to do exactly that.

Your post was focused on trying to rob Tomlin of credit for his successes and blame him for any failures in the years to come. Why not just admit that?

Perhaps you should put aside the ad hominem arguments and stick to the topic. Thank you very much.

'Deed I did and I was very enthusiastic about it! I would be yelling at the TV for them to do it and then they would, and I would say yeah! So yeah I hope they keep it up. It's a breath of fresh air.

Prior to retiring, I operated a successful consulting business which had me in front of CEOs, CFOs, Presidents and Vice Presidents on a regular basis. I soon learned that the way you speak, and what you put in writing, will have a huge impact of the perception people have you, regardless of the accuracy of your statements. Since your audience is children, I can understand why you have yet to learn that.

Additionally, most professionals learn very soon that no matter how convinced you may be of your opinion, don't state it, or write it, as fact. It makes you look narcissistic.

Until or unless the Steelers are mathematically eliminated from postseason Rudolph will be #2.

The Steelers obviously don't think that. If they were fielding offers for Mason (and didn't pull the trigger because they weren't good enough offers), they are at least thinking about a world where Mason Rudolph isn't the back up QB on the 2026 team. It won't be week 1, and hell, it might not be at all... But, it is pretty clear that a world exists where we are still in mathematical playoff contention and Mason Rudolph is no longer on the Steelers.

    1. Rodgers staying healthy. Playing QB at this level you need to be able to take hits time to time. This is why old QBs retire. I'd have him doing yoga and stretching like crazy, not like it's gonna help or anything.

    2. LB. Though perhaps it's less a concern than realizing it's gonna be a long season for them.

    3. DC. I'm not certain he's got the expertise required for a contender. Which is the goal.

If we lose Rodgers early and the season unravels, though, I'm not going to be too upset. Because look at this QB class and the options that may come out:

Back issue? He doesn’t have no back issue. He got a lack of new contract issue.
