I keep reading how RW is impressing everyone at camp, and while that is coming from media types, who are more full of **** than politicians, it seems he is actually showing some of the skills we thought he had.

If he makes a big leap forward, it could make for a nice WR room.

Wilson appears to be emerging as the #2 wide receiver in camp! It’s similar to Dotson’s situation. Little development under Tomlin, but a new coaching staff and scheme made all the difference.

I gave a thumbs down to this post because NOBODY is more full of **** than politicians.

Actually, if I recall correctly the media critters were gushing over RW last year during camp also. He might have turned the corner, or he could be one of those guys who shine at practice but can't put it together in actual games. I'm not getting too excited till I see him Thursday.

I feel like I've heard this story before.....

However, I've been rooting for Roman as I think he does have some skills that, if given a chance, can shine.

Having said that, we were at Saturday Night Lights practice this past Saturday, and I didn't see a whole lot out of Roman. Of course that's just one night, and reports from earlier practices have been very good.

    DK looked tip top, though.

Think about this for a second. If our media was honest and did the job they are supposed to do, politicians, as well as all the other corrupt and broken systems in our country, couldn't exist.

That's great news if it's true, I don't see why it wouldn't be. I guess we'll find out if he's for real or not during the season, that's assuming he'll stay healthy.

At this point, I am surprised he hasn't been cut.

I think it is 6:00 tonight final 53 will be announced. I'm most interested in the QB situation. RW will make the cut.

His issue from what I heard reported once is he has trouble getting off of press.

Color me skeptical. The first time he runs a wrong route resulting in an INT he might not see the light of day again. You can only give a guy so many chances.

I'm not sold on Roman Wilson either. If he were good, he'd have produced by now.

But he's not the only one I have doubts about. I used to think ARod was the best part of the offense and the productive part we could count on. Not the OL or the skill players.
But I'm changing my mind. I'm starting to think the limitation is ARod. Can't run, can't throw long, limitations.
The OL and skill players, compared to our AFCN competition is at least as good.
Perhaps the reason our only offense at the end of last year was swing passes to Gainwell.....was ARod's limits.

    Your thoughts?

We are very thin at WR if Metcalf or Pittman gets injured. Rodgers hasn't had a lot of good things to say about Roman or Germie. If one of the top 2 go down I can see him wanting another MVS or Thielen type of WR added to the team.

He was blamed for bad route running on one of Howard’s INT

Roman Wilson.... not a favorite of mine.
Yesterday he got called out for what he's done since he's got here.... screwing up routes.
Benard is a far better solution but they want him as an outside guy whereas Roman is the inside guy.
We should have kept Austin, he was perfect for the role.

I disagree about Calvin Austin. In my opinion, Austin was never going to be a good NFL wide receiver.

I really like Bernard. He can play anywhere and be productive. I believe he is going to be a very good player for a long time.

Wilson has talent, but his constant errors have been an issue. We won't know until we get into this season if he has progressed enough to make a positive impact on the team. I am hoping that he does, because having that many guys that can get open would give the offense a chance to be much more productive.

I can agree on Austin, but he is better than Roman even if only slightly, and he did run good routes.
I don't miss Austin, he dropped some easy catches.. and disappeared. he is just a reference point.
I would think upgrades would be out on the FA market.. I haven't looked at it today.

Can he prove different? Maybe... I guess we're going to find out.

Definitely concerned about the WR room yet again. I don’t think Pittman has even practiced with AR and then Roman is your #3. Yikes. I like Bernard but he is a rookie.

    Ex-teammate disagrees:

Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings did not hold back Aaron Rodgers for his comments on Roman Wilson. Wilson made a critical mistake in Tuesday’s practice, resulting in an interception. And Rodgers publicly called him out for it. The four-time NFL MVP also showered Wilson with praise, too, however.
“I’ve never liked this. He’s not doing this to DK [Metcalf]. He’s not doing this to Davante Adams. You don’t take something that we can resolve, and I get it, he talked glowingly about Roman… But Roman is listening to that, and immediately, when you hear ‘that’s the second time,’ it’s like a reprimand of like, we didn’t even need to know about the first time,” Jennings said on FS1’s First Things First. “This has been the issue that I’ve always had. When we look at Rodgers, it’s like, do you ever do anything wrong?”
